Dudley Changes in Arcade Release(updated1stpost)

The Japanese says “perfect invincibility”. So I imagine it working a lot like Cody’s Zonk Knuckle.

Upper body invincibility means you’ll avoid high attacks like jump-ins and high pokes. Similar to PPP Lariat and non-EX Zonk, I think. Sounds like not throw invincibility, though.

That’d be so boss if true. And with low ducking speed?

Where did they say the rose was changed? Not doubting you, but I really want to see that in writing.

I would take super armor over upper body invincibility any day. Guile, Dahl, and Chun can still throw out that fireball and low poke afterward. Plus super armor would give us a chance to absorb more damage and give us more ultra meter. I’ve always been a fan of how you could throw out like 3 supers in 3rd strike.

that was more due to the fact that there were 3 meters to fill, normals increased meters, and meter increased rather quickly…

yeah I know I’m just saying. I throw out U2 every chance i can after a combo to be cool, but then again I’m a scrub.

Given that the input window for kick or punch is from the 3rd frame, doesn’t it sound like you can hit a punch or kick early past the fireball and counter hit their poke?

im also curious if invincibility during movement means that there isn’t a strict frame on when you can duck projectiles and that the entire time you’re moving you dodge them completely which would make for an awesome punish on the start up of projectiles, if you understand what i mean.

Awesome stuff. EX Ducking sounds even better than we had previously hoped.

cr.MK’s extra active frames should also make it easier to counter hit Sim’s low pokes. Better recovery on St.HK could be a game-changer, it was straight out one of the best pokes in all of 3S, so if it’s coming anywhere close to that level, Dudley will be a real handful.

It said EX Duck was cancellable into straight/upper on the 3rd frame. I wonder how soon it’ll recover to use normals.

What’s the frame advantage of JU FADC now?

wait… JU FADC(forwards) is -2 now? that better mean less frame advantage on JU and NOT a slower dash… else we lose our Ducking Upper FADC jab.

JU FADC is -3 in SSF4. This is a buff, just like I thought.

JU FADC being -2 means faster dash or better blockstun? I’m hoping the first. I’m pretty happy about the buffs just abit suprised about more active frames on c.mk and s.hk being safe on block. I always cancel s.hk into either duck or lp mgb and I dont see any reason not to continue doing that. I think ex ducking and f.mp could help in some matchups though. At times I’ve done a duck in anticipation for a SB and beat or traded with guile when he does s.hp. I also think that ex ducking could be useful to close distance quick if you can space the straight properly + it might be useful against slow projectiles. I predict that every match up against projectile users will get 0.5-1 easier now.

The best part is that we get to keep our high dmg!

S.hk being 0 on block migth be good against grapplers? You do c.lp x2 > s.hk and cancel only if you hit? That coudl be useful…

The -2 its a buff guys, its already horrible.

Upper body invincibilty from duck is probably the same as cross counter, low attacks only hit EX Duck.

I’m wondering how applicable this is against dhal’s fireball + low fierce crap though. Seems like it’ll still hit on the way in if its his perfect range.
