you forget that a good portion of the scrubs who sit around day and night waiting for more hints on characters are complete trash at the game and could care less about ever winning a tournament. you are correct the top players really could give a shit about voices and petty shit that doesnt effect gameplay. just like the idiots on the makoto thread who thinks shes gonna be AMAZING because in 3s she was pretty good fail to realize this is SF4 and the majority of that shit will not work.
Dudley is freaking huge, with little man voice.
And a coke to drink or something!
Hope sweep is safe.
i’d expect it to me ssb and mgb.
Just like an intelligent person would realize the word they were looking for there was couldn’t, am I right?
In a weird way, I was thinking it may be Thunderbolt, if for no other reason than that move is hurting for some reason to keep it relevant. But yeah, SSB would also fit nicely, I think.
Kokujin still plays SFIV and hosts tournaments for it regularly so I wouldn’t be surprised if he at least started maining Dudley once the arcade release ever gets around. Fujiwara is pretty damned old school by today but maybe he’ll come out of the woodwork too.
Ducking Straight is his focus break. Although nearly all of his moves hit more than once anyway.
I dunno if I am allowed to go into details about combos and stuff I have worked out from playing with him a while. I will ask and let you know. But I can say you won’t need to use meter for hardly anything. Maybe EX MGB just for the fact it pushes back so far. And you won’t be FADCing anything if you have Corkscrew Cross as your Ultra.
And his overhead… oh my god!
Rolling Thunder = Dudley’s variation of the Dempsey Roll.
Ippo Makunouchi = Uses Dempsey Roll in the series Hajime no Ippo.
Jack Dempsey = Creator of the Dempsey Roll.
History Lesson Complete!!!
Thank god. Sounds like his overhead is going to be basically as good as it was in 3S. Which means broke as fuck. Tekken style 50/50 okizeme FTW.
I wonder if Ibuki and Makoto will be just as good about not needing to use EX meter.
lolololololol
It was safe to everything in 3rd Strike though that was mainly because you could parry it. On block I don’t even think Ken could reverse super. They’ll probably make it work in SFIV like Rog’s sweep. Safe to everything but reversal supers.
Going to have to disagree with TDeneka’s assertion that Dudley looks slow after seeing that Sagat video–for SSF4, he’s definitely one of the faster characters.
Vs. Sagat video is good stuff.
As for the voice…basically sounds like they changed him from proper Brit accent to a bit’a the ol cockney. Still no idea why they’d change iconic “Let’s fight like gentlemen” to something another character already says at round start.
Can someone be a good chap’, and ah…link me that Sagat fight. I have seem to have misplaced it.

Ah…thank you kindly my good sir.
What is the counter move that Dudley uses against Sagat’s Tiger Uppercut in the beginning of the fight? It darkens the scene and it looks like his eye glows?
That move my good man would be Cross Counter.
Hmmm…by watching the video, Sagat presumably has 1000 health now…so let’s run off of that.
- Cross counter looked like it did 100 damage to Dudley, while Sagat received 200 damage(roughly).
- Jet Uppercut did 100 damage(depending on light, medium, or heavy.) EX JU looked like 150 damage.
- Both EX and regular Machine Blow did 100 damage.(EX being faster and greater dash)
- EX Short Swing Blow did 150 damage(roughly).
