Are you kidding? Dudley’s voice is a problem fore everyone considering how Dudley’s lines are quoted all the time.
Did anyone notice that his Machine gun blow/rush punch special move (I’m sorry, I forget what its called ) is him using the other characters face as a speed bag? Fricken’ awesome!
I have to agree that Dudley’s intro voice is not right, it almost sounds like he has a lisp. Doesn’t surprise me, they failed T-Hawks voice hard, a 300 pound native that sounds like some teenager from a hollywood cartoon.
not liking dudleys voice is technically not really a problem, only just something you have a different opinion on. gameplay wise is what really should be the only thing that matters. if you’re bummed because of something that only has to do with something purely cosmetic, then sorry. you’re just gonna have to deal with it at this point.
That’s his shitty Thunderbolt punch special that he got removed from Second Impact. It was replaced with the much better Swing Sway Blow. Luckily in Super they’ve fixed up Thunderbolt so it now creates an untechable knockdown. In the old game it was obviously pretty much parry bait and didn’t even knockdown on hit. Not even the EX version. He would stay stuck in some stupid animation that recovered almost after the opponent recovered from hit stun. In SFIV that would be death obviously.
Check out :40 seconds into this video to see footage of it. Easily telegraphed and blocked and didn’t knockdown even if you hit the person with it. Below average recovery too even if it hits. As you can see when it’s blocked he’s sitting wide open to get punished.
The voice needs to be changed, besides that everything is okay, except Capcom very very corny boring music in the trailer. Music plays a role in fighting games for me, especially if it is not fast paced like MvC2 or GGXX.
The part in that video that says “Let’s Begin”. Maybe that was the butler… for some reason. Because now that I listen in really closely, I think I hear Dudley’s actual voice. For some reason his voice volume was tuned down. I’m guessing it’s because he was too epic that it would just break the speakers.
The Voice already grew on me. I’m a believer. I feel like during the fight though, when he’s actually yelling shit, he’ll sound close to what we love. I refuse to see anything about Dud’s in a negative light.
