Dual Strike PCB now with EX Strike PCB - http://www.arcadeforge.de

This works on the SMD version as well? I’m finally going to get around to wiring mine up.

Yes because the dual strike smd uses essentially the same firmware as the original DS. The only difference between their firmware is that the pinout for the buttons are different so there had to be changes in the firmware to reflect that. If you flashed a DS with the smd’s fw you’ll find out that the pcb will still connect to the ps3 and all its functions work, but you’ll find that the button mapping is totally wrong.

You’re right, should have tested it for myself. But it’s not bad to have the version 2 firmware bugfixed.

BTW: There was a wrong configuration editor 3.0.0 ZIP available for download, this has been fixed - no idea how that happened.

so that explains why it wasnt working lol

What do I do? The USB screw for D- is missing! Solder is not an option as I don’t have the tools or skills. Any specific screw from a hardware store could pop on there to replace it? Help benacao!

M2 screw should fit here. Do you have such some tiny screws?

i would say take out the screw in one of the ground screw terminal spots.

I tried backing out the screws from the ones I have on hand. I haven’t the foggiest of how that one came out because no matter what I try I can’t get them to back out.

I have a PS3 TE stick that I want to dual mod… Is there anything I can do?

Not with anything this Thread is about.

Yeah. Like Phreak said. The housing unit for the USB screws makes it nearly impossible for me to use one of the grounds.

Bencao, could you give me a 100% answer that an M2 screw would fit. Thanks again for the tips.

Digital pad not working … ?

Hello,

Dual mod setup : Xbox360’s TE + Dual Strike V1.
Problem : When I set the Dual Strike’s working mode to pass-through, the digital pad is not working in PS3 mode, why !!?? Now I have to set the DS’s working mode to default in order to get the D-pad working (= To play ps3 fighting games).

Any idea please ?

Thanks in advance.

I can’t confirm this, it works perfectly for me. Please tell us the setup: which firmware are you using, are you using the LS/DP/RS switch (connected to S3/S4 on DS), have you tried manually setting the DS to digital pad mode? You should check if the default stick mode is not set to digital pad by using the configuration editor. This problem might occur if you updated from an older firmware and you didn’t reconfigure the DS.

  • How to know the used firmware ?
  • No, I’m not using the LS/DP/RS switch (connected to S3/S4 on DS)
  • How to do manually setting the DS to digital pad mode ?
  • Already checked, It’s set to right analogue stick.
  • So how to reconfigure the DS ? (you means reverts to defaults in configuration mode ?)

Is there a version of the DS firmware that has PS2 game support on BC PS3s? I don’t see anything in the documentation, but a google search makes it look like at one time it was working but now it is not.

Looks like you need a link to the Dual Strike Docs

Stick based Configuration

Try the configuration editor
configuration editor

Here`s the doc section for you

No.

The latest Dual Strike version includes all the features of the older version. So there is no older version that is more powerfull than the latest.

hehe ty moddologe
but to use the configuration editor should I update my DS to 3.0 first ? (I have the v1 DS never updated)
sorry if this is a stupid question …

You always have to use the configuration editor which is compatible with your DS’s firmware version. The configuration editor was introduced with firmware version 2. So better update it to firmware version 2 or 3 (see the Dual Strike Overview for links and more infos).

Is it possible to add PS2 mode support on PS3 like the Cthulhu and UPCB have? I thought the DS was based on the UPCB firmware anyways? I’d like to replace the UPCB in my TE stick with a DS and it would be nice to retain the PS2 functionality.
