Time to start saving up for a wireless PS4/PS3 setup. Since there’s little chance I will get a M$ console, I can just set my personal stick that way. I’ll be in contact soon Gummo.
Has anyone tried pad hacking a hori pad 4 yet? I know they’re currently only available in Japan right now but I keep seeing them online for around the same price as a regular ds4.

EDIT: Damn not being able to make image tag work on mobile.
EDIT #2: Never mind. Upon googling more info about the pad I came across the thread already made about it.
That one is not common ground so it isn’t suitable for dual mods. If you just want to make a stand alone ps4 stick then you could with that. The Hori Fighting Commander 4 on the other hand is common ground and a lot easier to padhack.
Fighting Commander 4 Pro is much better for padhacking.
Wait I thought the fighting commander 4 pro wasn’t common ground?
This is the one from hori that works on ps3 as well right?
The hori FPS 4 is not common ground.
The hori FC4 is common ground.
both work on ps4 and ps3 via a switch.
Dang well that’s good to know. I’ve seen them up on ebay for $50 and if they are easy to mod then I’ll take a chance on one of them.
I recently found out that akishop sells bare ps4 pads for about $40 shipped so that one is a little more appealing price wise but I’ll have to give the hori pad a try now
Don’t.
It’s not worth the extra hassle, plus you’ll be paying for shipping from Japan.
You recommend just getting the pad new from the store or online?
I’m curious has anyone here ordered the pad bare by itself from akishop?
So, at this point, there’s no FC4 pcb diagram? Nobody has tried to see if is possible to use it for custom fightsticks?
I’m about to order one from ebay, but I don’t know if I will have enough knowledge or time to do a padhack.
I haven’t made a diagram for it yet because its rather simple and basically the same as the HFC pro 3.
I’m already using one in a hitbox mod.
Well, I bought the HFC4 last night, so is just matter of time to get my hands on it. How do you deal with the switch for PS3/PS4? Is possible to use a rocker switch?
Is it possible to replace the flex cable with a standard FFC to a FFC connector much like the Sixaxis/ShinJN adapter? Custom ordered long ffcs could keep the touchpad. Functionality if mounted on our sticks. Waiting forward to ppadhacking next gen pads. If only Sony allowed standard PC HID input devices right? Skullgirls’driver definitely right direction but no big developer with friends at Madcatz and HORI would ever use it.
Got a DS4 already prehacked by Gummo with screw terminals. It saved so much headache and made everything so easy. For those that don’t feel confident modding this particular pad, give Gummo a shot. Great customer service, great product, and he shares his findings with everyone.
So I am having a hell of a time trying to invert the L1 and R1 buttons. At first I thought I probably had the emitter and collectors backwards on my transistors but even after switching them around I still can’t get the dead bug circuit to work. I have it wired up just like in the diagrams in the thread yet my buttons still show up as pressed down. I’m using 10k ohm resistors and S8050D TO-92 General Purpose NPN Transistors. And I’m drawing the VCC by running a jumper wire from the usb cable. I don’t claim to know much about circuitry so if I’ve got something wrong in my set up here it would be nice to know
@Foolinfection I’ve run into that problem a few times when I did dual and triple mods with the PS4 pad. I solved the problem by adding PNP transistors or 1n914 & 1n4148 switching diodes.
These pics might help you out.
Any update on inverting L1/R1 using hex inverters, Gummo?
I have the hex inverter chip info in my 3rd party xb1 padhack thread. You can check it out there for now until I copy it over to this thread.
Thanks, just needed to double-check. Got the pad-hack working in a 360/Kitty/XB1/PS4 setup.
The punch buttons arent working on mine, everything else is fine. Is the wiring on my inverter correct?
