Dropping combos

I can do most of Adon’s BnB with relative ease offline at MY HOME in training mode and online. For some reason I can’t seem to do them anymore at tourneys. I’ve never had these problems in the past. It’s not nerves because I’ve been to local tourneys before. It’s not my stick because it works fine at home. So I guess it must be the monitors? In the past, the tourneys used large monitors(I play USF4 on a large LED SAMSUNG TV) and I’ve never had any problems with those. The ones used at the shop I go to now use smaller ones. Acer I believe. I’m not that informed on the delay certain monitors have. Has anyone had this problem?

Since the delay on monitors is constant, it should not mess your timing up contrary to online where a lag-spike can hit you during a combo.
The timing should be exactly the same.
Delay should only mess with your hit-confirms, whiff punishes, anti-air etc. basically anything that is reaction-based.

If I had to guess I’d say it’s nerves.

Even though you’ve been to tourneys before, everyone gets nerves. Players that have been put in that situation more often naturally get better at dealing with nerves, but they never just vanish. Lots of factors can make them seemingly reappear. New TV that you haven’t played on before, an unfamiliar character matchup, the tournament having more people than normal and some of them are actively watching your match, it could be something as minor as not being used to playing SF4 on a small screen.

sitting position, desk height, distance and chair height do also matter.
Few degrees and inches in ankle or height can make a difference.
At your home you have your chair unaltered. Perhaps you should measure the exact height and ankle and adjust the tournament chair and desk accordingly

I guess it was just nerves as hard as it is to admit it lol. I couldn’t even get my frame traps.

It is more than likely the monitors. They use near lagless monitors, if you play at home on whatever tv you will be accustomed to that timing. You best bet for competitive play is to get a lagless monitor since that is the standard.

If you play on any HDTV you best bet is to use VGA if it has it (only xbox supports VGA with an official cable) since it gets rid of post processing. If you have any filters on (or if you are not using game mode) the lag will be a lot even if you get used to it.
