Drawing/Sketching fundementals thread

Re: dynamic poses. I have to support the recent other posts and say I personally feel you get more out of learning gesture drawing than you do looking at figures or books. I feel like a big stumbling block people new to drawing have is trying to get things like proportions and musculature right early on, when they should work on stuff like motion (by that I mean the “flow” of the shapes) and center of gravity, and having this static image directly in front of you can make you focus on the wrong details.

if anyone wants to start their own comic homework they can cuz it may take another month for my arm to fully heal up.

right now i cant even play DBFZ on stick, which sucks.

oh yeah,…

in cse you guys missed it in the other threads i posted this.

there is an artist by the name of WLOP on deviantart and he has a indie comic/manga/graphic novel out that goes by the name of GHOSTBLADE

https://tapas.io/episode/789438
you can download the tapas app on google play store.

every panel of his comic/novel is a painting. the vid shows just one page.

I’ve already started with the idea so ill post mine when I’m done. I guess ill take a tad mire tine. How long were we making these?

Hope you recover well dude

SRK continues to live.
Also, current class assignments doesn’t have us doing animation for a bit, but rather story boarding. So, I guess that’ll be interesting?
I still feel lost when it comes to character design, but I try.

he said no more than two page at a time. but i’ll assume…eventually 22 pages over time?

Thanks. I knew I had seen those women before somewhere, and since I like warrior women battling it out and I am going to check out Ghostblade.

^drawing process video of this:

That’s a good exercise. I like both stories you guys came up with, but i don’t think two pages will be enough to draw them.

no. he means two pages at a time. so i can do 2 pages for example, then someone else either takes over my comic or does their own comic, then i can do another page or two. in other words we have turns. reason is 2 pages and get evaluated, then someone ellse gets a tturn so no one dominates or gets ignored.

@AriesWarlock

Thanks. It looks good, and the review says the tablet uses the same screen as the Cintiq does, so it’s quality.

@Raij1n how far along are you? i feel well enough to get startd again. but im still on the first page of mine.

ashley wood is the guy that did the metal gear solid comic book. i really like his style. his toys are cool. he has a toy line called 3A toys.

makes me think of the gorillaz art style.

Description
What is Character Art School?

[details=Spoiler]Character Art School is a 10 week learn-anywhere video course where you learn to become adept at drawing professional characters. I’ve hand-crafted the Character Art School: Complete Character Drawing course to be the only course you need, to learn all the core fundamentals and advanced techniques to drawing and sketching characters well. If you’re an absolute beginner or you’re already at an intermediate level, the course will advance your current ability to a professional level. The course is a comprehensive 10 module guided video course, where the only limit to your progression is your determination and engagement in the rewarding assignments.

Whether you want to draw character concept art for films and games, illustrations, comics, manga, Disney style or other styles, this is the course you need to get you there.

I’ll teach you to draw without fear. I’ll teach you to draw well.

Finally, Learn Character Drawing Well

Whether you’re a complete beginner, or intermediate at character drawing, you’ll learn things you never knew you never knew. Seriously. Inspired by masters and built on the theory of giants, Character Drawing Academy is one of, if not the most comprehensive character drawing course out there. I’m so convinced of this, I’ll give you a no-questions asked refund if you’re not satisfied.

Clear, Easy to Understand Lessons

Crystal clear in fact. Learning character drawing effectively means having information presented in a logical and coherent way. The Character Academy Course is modular by design, easy to grasp, and allows you to learn in a well paced, structured way. Engage in the course chronologically, then revise each module at your leisure. Grasp concepts faster than you ever have before – there’s no fluff here.

Assignments that are Rewarding

Bridging the gap between theory and practice, each module’s assignments have been designed to both reinforce theory, and feel rewarding. I’ve taken the core of the theory, and purpose built each assignment to help you rapidly progress, and you’ll see the difference in your own work almost immediately. Art is about doing, so let’s get started.

What’s Your Style?

Whether you want to learn to draw characters for games, comics, cartoons, manga, animation and more, this course has you covered. I’m not teaching you a ‘method’ or a ‘way’ to draw, I’m teaching you to be a fundamentally good character artist.

ill buy this one if yall want and upload the vids onto yt or vimeo.
but some other folks has to buy the others.

Each of us buying a single course seems more expensive.

Suppose there’s a total of 6 of us interested in these courses. If 6 put $6.66 for the money pool that makes $39.96. We can get all four courses.

If each of us buys a single course, that’s $11.99 for just one.

Of course, we would need some people for this if they are up for it. @PozerWolf it seems like you wanted to improve on your character design. These courses will help you big time. Maybe @flighflighflugit too?

Thanks for the offer but count me out on this one. Got a lot going on atm, so it’ll still be a little while before I get into the swing of things.

Been practicing a bit on my anatomy and stylization. Decided to draw a quickie of waifu #1
