Dragon's Dogma (From the director of DMC3)

Just got to Everfall.

HOLY SHIT IS THIS GAME FUUUUUUUN!

I just snagged a Giant Coin Pouch off of a ledge, after running away from a boss I cannot kill.

I’m still using the same two plebs I’ve been using since the outpost - Rook and some 11th level useless Ranger ho whose owner didn’t leave her with a crossbow.

I’m still rocking a mage.

But I’m using a staff of inherent Fireballs, too! :stuck_out_tongue:

Ya’ll make this game sound really, really fucking good. How does it compare to something like Kingdom of Amalur?

I notice the mage/sorc buff spells seem really neat.
Like if I get some kind of ability that changes my attack patterns (like fire orbs, ice orbs, etc), I start to enjoy it.

Hmmmmm… maybe I should just give my sorc a third chance.
I’ll purchase more passive spells.
But being a sorc, I’ve yet to get any cool spells. I still have the same shitty fireball, ice, and lightning spell.

Shit.

I accidentally shot someone instead of talking.

Now I am imprisoned.

This sucks.

I lost the quest to find the girl.

I am seriously tempted to roll back 6 hours to get it…

I missed it too. Just soldier on man. There is a New Game+.

Will do.

Are you using Double Cast? If one character uses a spell, and another uses the same spell, then both spells will cast at the same time regardless how long (or short) the second spell was charging. So put a mage Pawn in your group, do whatever you want, and only cast after you see your mage Pawn casting a spell, then you won’t have to worry about charging your own spells.

It’s not that big of a deal. The girl is still alive even if you didn’t go save her.

Outside of casting, what can my mage actually do in the mean time? :open_mouth:

I have not used a mage, but I assume you can smack stuff with your stick. I’m not telling you that it is a good idea, but you seem to be bored with casting. So, with this knowledge you can go mash buttons just like everyone else!

Nah.

PW is correct in that you are pretty limited during casts.

But the big spells suck enough stamina, that you’re somewhat compelled to use an upgraded staff, and chuck bebe fireballs inbetween.

Yeah, I was leveling up a mage because I wanted the augment for increased enchantment duration (normally play a Mystic Knight but recasting your buffs so often can get annoying) and I felt the same way.

Until I got brontide.

Now I just run around whipping the shit out of everything.

Fought the damn thing at level 14. Took half an hour to get the guy to drop.
Got a level 28 elven strider named Lynn, figured I’d pimp her here if anyone needs her. Gamer tag is my user name, kitsunisan.
Her strider rank is maxed out, does ranger offer anything really worth going for or should I just keep her here? No real interest in making her a mage and I’m already a mk.

Ferrystones are the only thing in this game that matter.

Holy shit I found the Armory in Gran Soren. LITERALLY across the way from the Inn. My pawn Rogue picked 18k RC from 3 other Arisen, and now she looks like a female Robin Hood.

I love the game, but goddamn are treks long.

What is this spell you speak of?!

In a sequel I want horses or horse drawn carriages or donkey drawn carriages. And the ability to carry camping gear. You clear out an area of enemies and each party member takes a turn keeping guard.

Assuming Microsoft/Sony don’t puss out on the next gen in terms of graphics I’d love to see Dragon’s Dogma 2 there.

I feel like I’ve barely touched the main story. Just finished the Griffin quest.

2 day hike to the nest.
1 day to get through the tower (and find all loot).
Epic battle in a lightening storm.
2 day hike back home.

So awesome.
