I didn’t know the Ancient Dragon had a hitbox that could be hit on the ground. I would just jump up at his face and spam aerial swipes with my fighter.
This is why I couldn’t fucking beat him.
After learning this, I went in by myself and destroyed him. What the fuck.
lol what’s that? I can’t hear you, I think you got sapped. Oh shit, now you’re polymorphed. Damn dude…Blind…that sucks. Oh shit psychic scream. WTF are you doing? I’m mana burning the shit out of your healer while the rogue is stunlocking. Your healer just went down. Yeah you wiped. GG, thanks for the points. I can buy my shoulders now.
arm yourself to the boss, with resist gear and a weapon that does extra damage to them
Medusa(Demonic): Ground chain will not work on her, focus on deadly revolve. Deadly Revolve will actually protect your from her purple projectiles while you’re in motion. So wait till she fires them and spin at her, be careful to avoid her grabs and use the snakes to build up berserk. Deadly revolve is very weak compared to ground chain so you’ll want the power boost from berserk
Red Dragon(Draconic): Cut down his life bar to atleast 50% in the treasure room prefarably even more. Use your ground chain against him as he has a huge hitbox and ground chain does not work during the chase. Also make use of avoid as he jumps, sometimes your evade will proc if timed right and give you a few seconds of invincibility while you’re in the air.
edit: Once you leave the treasure room, use deadly revolve as he appears on the screen. Evade his ground stomps and fire balls. Use shield to guard against killing fire. As soon as you get a chance, hop into a ballista and SHOOT HIM. Shoot him with all the spears before he uses his breath(anticipate his fireballs so you can jump out of ballista as he rears up). Then deadly revolve as soon as you run out of ballista ammo or he starts walking. Rinse and repeat till he falls.
Kraken(Natural): use the tentacles to build up berserk then wail on Kraken with ground chain. On higher difficulties some draconic mooks will show up so take them out first. Also double jump or evade+deadly revolve over the waves as the Kraken tries to pull the ceiling down. This Kraken overall is really easy(since the head does not attack you and is stationary) but can get hairy on higher diffs as new mooks appear
Wraith(Undead): Wait for him to come close to the light, and use the zombies on the ground to build up berserk(you should also be using warpaint and a strength pot for all of these encounters). Ground chain works on him even though he is flying, so wail on him until light wears off and you should kill him by the time you get to the third statue
Chimera(Demonic): Use ground chain. pop your pots right as the Chimera emerges and stay on her lion side. Wail on her with ground chain and use evade if she tries to stomp you. If she shoots projectiles evade and deadly revolve right into the projectiles to protect you and build up berserk.
Killer Rabbit(Natural): pop pots, and do hit and run. try and do a complete ground chain, but evade often and avoid 'nado and hops of doom. Also avoid instant kill headbutt if you can and you should be ok.
Gargoyle Gate(I think Demonic but might be natural): One of the easiest of the path B bosses. Ground chain+full berserk will do immense damage. But also make sure to hit with cannonball as soon as possible(put ball in cannon and light with torch) it’ll take a chunk of meter away. Use idiot goblins(who are humanoid type along with orcs) to build up berserk if need be.
Archdemon(Demonic): Ground chain ground chain, time your evade with his attacks, you should be able to evade safely even if he uses his aoe blasts. Avoid his grab attacks, and be light on your feet. Start the battle with warpaint and a strength pot already going.
Cyclops(Demonic): Even easier than the Gargoyle Gate, immediately grab key and run/evade past cyclops to start closing door. Wail on cyclops with ground chain and when one starts a haymaker combo or stomp evade and wail on the other one. When a new one tries to stop door from closing avoid the main two and use deadly revolve. With you in berserk mode you should be able to get rid of the door trolls while keeping berserk active.
edit: Checked on gamestop to confirm and Gargoyle Gate counts as an object so equip mostly anti humanoid gear(for orcs and goblins) and a weapon that does extra damage to objects. Cyclops count as humans so wear anti-human gear but keep an anti-undead weapon for the skeletons and ghouls
EDIT:
Ancient Dragon(Draconic): Have a strength pot equipped and walk to the right. Pop strength pot as soon as ancient dragon starts coming towards you which should give you time to get warpaint active as he appears. Use ground chain on him, evading his bites and deadly revolving into projectives. Also be careful of undead mooks that might appear to try and knock you off your feet. You should have no problems killing ancient dragon, have some health pots if need be(but you should be fine with health unless you’re trying to kill him for speed which can get dangerous on higher difficulties but you should be able to get him down before your lives are gone)
Yeah, first time I ran into a competent RMP back in Wrath after the Ret nerf, I realized that I literally lost at the class selection screen. I respect/hate you so much right now.
Wow arena is pretty like it’s own game. It’s bullshit yet legitimate at the same time depends on the Season and the patch it was being played since WoW gets patched pretty god damn often and it changes a LOT of things. Oddly enough not too much games like it aside from Bloodline champions and even that game is niche as hell.
Very much doubt you talked to someone that played WoW arena competitively, out of the populace that played, it was around 1%, with decent players being even smaller.
It was still a somewhat big community since WoW is so fucking huge.
OK LETS MOVE ON before I start going on and on about it.
It does take some practice and coordination to choreograph such a perfect symphony of CC. I loved it so much my 3 main characters were a Discipline Priest, Frost Mage, and Sub/Assassin Rogue, so I got to experience it from every possible vantage.
But to relate this back to Dragon’s Crown, Sorceress has every tool she needs to dominate in the arena in this game. She can control huge amounts of the battlefield with Ice Prison, Blizzard, and Rock Press. None of these spells have a casting time and instantly occur on the battlefield.
Ice Prison will keep you from rushing her on the ground, forcing melee to jump to approach. But she can freely run through the walls while they also give AOE ice damage and block line of site for enemy abilities. At max ranks they last a very long time. Combined with her up magic attacks she can deflect projectiles and make jumping in virtually impossible.
Blizzard is practically inescapable, no matter how much you try and evade. It hits full screen, and at max ranks lasts for like 10 seconds. And each time it hits it has a chance to freeze you, opening you up for combos and juggling.
Rock Press does good damage to a large area right in front of you, knocking down enemies and stunning them for several seconds. So even if you do get in her face she can instantly stun you.
In addition, she can shut down virtually any knockback and hitstun with Protection. This makes her extremely difficult if not impossible to combo, as she can simply evade out of your combos while taking 50% less damage. You’re basically forced to kill her in a single massive blow and pray she doesn’t have time to instantly CC you.
Once you’re CCed, she can use Extract along with an Ice Staff to perpetually juggle you with ice tornadoes and jumping square attacks. If you happen to fall out of the combo or a partner comes in to try and break things up she can just Rock Press to instantly CC you both.
Most of this is theory at this point, but after looking at the skills and options of the other classes I don’t see them having an answer to Sorceress in PVP.
EDIT:
When I say competitively I meant I got my arena rating high enough to buy the high end PVP gear.
I want The Wife to get home so I can play a little bit. I started a Sorceress. I like her already but I do not like the way she runs. That shit looks so retarded.
I agree, those tits can be very distracting… Honestly though besides the tits bouncing like no tomorrow, I actually find her running animation adorable. It is like she can’t keep up with the rest of the group because of obvious reasons.
Nah, I dont give a crap about titties in games. To me she just looks like some chick that runs fucking whack. Ive seen broads with giant cans that look normal when they run. It looks very stupid to me.
To each their own I guess. I can tell you that they probably wasn’t aiming for “cool” and or “normal” when they developed her running animation. They probably were aiming for “cutesy” and “clumsy” and they did just that IMO. I don’t think I ever seen a girl with Breast as huge as the sorceresses running “normally” though…
I think the the Sorc’s running animation is adorable. However, big titty chicks, like myself, run with an arm across so they’re not flopping all over the place.
Driz, lemme know and I’ll get on and run some dungeons with ya.
I completely agree that the Sorceress’s run is adorable. I like all of her animations, and after spending enough time with her to hit the cap for hard I feel like I don’t even really notice the crazy breast physics anymore.
Personally, I refuse to run without a sports bra. The way she has to run with her back arched way back is pretty accurate.
Corrected error where I referred to Red Dragon as Ancient Dragon and added in tactics for Ancient Dragon as well. That should see you through.
Also if you’re trying to kill AD for speed I’d take some high level allies with you just for extra damage(as they’re pretty much useless otherwise). With proper planning and being even levelled with ancient dragon you should be able to knock him out of the sky before he starts his healing phase
edit: If you want to do the most damage you possibly can in the shortest amount of time(but with added risk) max adrenaline/war paint/berserk/incite rage/iron will/adroit hands. Adroit hands at max will cut your cooldown time in half allowing you to spend more time with war paint/incite rage/iron will(to avoid knock back and losing berserk) active. This will allow you to do monstrous damage but also put you in a race to the finish with the boss, so watch your ammy carefully and still use evade even if you have iron will going. Iron Will’s to protect you from losing Berserk should you screw up an evade+deadly revolve maneuver, not let you attempt to Juggernaut the boss as your health will already be low enough and it’ll be cake for the boss to take care of the rest of your health.
