Dragon's Crown (Chun-li has been dethroned as Queen of Thighs)

Man fuck that Subt-l. I like my setup. Shit works perfect, im ready for anything. Since she is more of a support character there is no need for high defense. Im never really in the thick of battle long enough to take any damage. I ran 16 dungeons yesterday and never had to switch my bag. My sorceress is bad ass.

you won’t last long in hard, and definitely not through a level in infernal. you can get by in normal, but fights get too crazy in later levels. on infernal, i’m running a 230 def and get killed by bosses in 2 hits. seeing a build with 30 def makes me cringe.

fights get crazier, screens are constantly busy. defense will get you farther than multiple weapons in a single bag, and its just simply not worth it when you know the levels… nothing should catch you by surprise to need to switch bags during gameplay.

I bet I get by just fine, skills dog. Eventually I’ll have nothing but spells and staves equiped.

well, that’s just unfortunate. its sad that you’re ignoring the fast that there are situations where you simply cannot avoid damage, and the boosts you get from armor that make your builds more worthwhile. missing out on gold boosts, better mp usage, elemental boosts… things that make you a better teammate in general.

What the fuck do I care? I play by myself 99 percent of the time. And even then Im gonna play the motherfuckin game the way I want to, not the way someone tells me to. Why? Because thats how I enjoy playing.

For the wizard to solo ancient dragon fire ward is a MUST. If you’re fast & lucky you can pull off 1 or even 2 meteor swarm on him at the beginning by standing inside the fire ward shield. When skeles come out things do get very tough. Maybe hit them with a long range spell & steal their crossbows and just waste the arrows.

Oh yeah, put some points to health & get defensive tonic if you’re dying too fast.

fine, i’ll let it go, i just expect an apology if you have to use equipment to get past bosses later. best of luck.

Can you do Ancient Dragon online at all?

One of the things that makes this game great is how you can play however the hell you feel like. I keep multiple weapons in some of my bags too so I don’t have to switch out my entire bag if a weapon of mine gets busted in the middle of a fight, which can happen quite often when you’re chaining. It’s a perfectly viable strategy and how much you’re fighting against it just because it’s not what you would do seems kind of retarded.

you can’t slow down the Ancient Dragon?

I actually had my easiest Ancient Dragon kill with the Wizard, but you have to use a ice staff. The air up+circle attack shoots out a starburst pattern when it connects, and each of the little spray bits will hit a ton of times on large enemies. The Ancient Dragon didn’t even get a chance to heal, and I killed him at level 31 on Normal.

i expect multiple weapons for other classes, because they are expected to tank. not for sorc. sorc combined with low defense means you aren’t taking a ton of hits before your lives are gone. so defense is important. you won’t be tanking, but you’ll take hits many time because its nearly unavoidable.

the sorcs general playstyle forces her to get to saftey and recharge. and since weapon durability is based on usage, not damage taken, you can just monitor it and swap bags when the game allows you.1.5-2.5k weapon durability is almost impossible to break on a single level, and have made double digit level runs without worrying about it. your armor is often more susceptible to breaking than your weapons.

also considering you have 9 bags and tons of loot worth using, cycling makes the most sense for sorc. you could have setups per level with the appropriate skills. i have a build with ice barrier just for the killer rabbit fight, and my teammates love it everytime the rabbit gets killed in under a minute and no one dies.

yes, you can play it however you want. but there’s also good advice to play the game a bit better.

I cant say anything about hard, but I beat every single boss in normal in 15 seconds or less…like I said in another post, nothing posed a threat. Im hoping hard will be more challenging.

Edit - thats no entirely true…some bosses took a bit longer. The wraith and the 2 dragons…

p.s. I like the sorceress more than the elf.

I’m gonna revamp my Amazon and keep two weapons from now on. War Paint only last so long and the cool down time when her weapon gets knocked out during a boss fight means I’m missing out on massive damage and can’t use the invulnerability during her spin to my advantage.

Things do get a bit nutty in Inferno, as I’ve discovered. Four elites appearing at once in the hidden treasure room in the Ancient Temple Ruins? Goodbye, AI partners; you are dead. When playing by myself now, I’m just gonna solo Inferno; AI partners just drain my money.

Just dont revive them once they run out of LP. Fuck’em, they did their part, right? hmhmhm

Does luck effect how good equipment found in chests is likely to be?

Cuz my wizard has been getting nothing but subpar stuff, and anytime I do get something good, it’s something only other classes can use.

Still costs money to resurrect bones at the temple, and with some prayer buffs costing 15-20k, I want to make sure I’m at least in the positive after a run if I’m only doing a single run real quick. They don’t really make it to bosses either, so their DPS doesn’t really mean anything in the end. Time to set up more bags.

Hard with sorceress is a bit slower. More defensive. Got to take time to create space every so often. skeletons are nice to have but it’s rare that they’ll last long since they’re dumber than AI partners. More elites means fewer stunned enemies. Hell the elite lizard dude was all up in my ass until I got used to dealing with him. beyond that, nothing much is different for me so far. I don’t do much chaining, and my play style is generally slower anyway. Dropping rocks on mooks is fun though.

This is my problem with the elf. I have a whole bunch of low level stuff or stuff for other classes. My sorceress gets tons of good stuff though.
