wooow, this game has the option to swith to the japanese voices… I never would have expected that.
It was an option in the last one as well. At least Funimation and Atari recognize that there are people that prefer the original to the dub. I only wish it was the same way for One Piece and Naruto games… Its more likely to happen with a Naruto game, but to happen to One Piece would be nothing short of a miracle.
On a related note, way back at E3, Atari was touting that the US version would have the option for complete Japanese audio. I really like the Japanese music, did it make it in the US release?
I still have yet to pick up the game, but sources say no. Boo.
send him to me, i wanna use my bardock against yours
uninterruptable, unless you time the hard hits to teleport away from it.
BTW akuma: the music is a mix between the americanized version and the japanese version, its quite good, lets you choose any song for any stage
just got this game seems dope so far.
edit: ok is there a way to stop those specials, I mean the ones where they taunt and then do some big automated combo, also can you stop big ki attacks?
You can power block both of those (R2+Block). On the rushdown attack the guys will stand there doing nothing for like 3 seconds and give you a free combo and on ki beams you simply won’t get any damage done.
Also anyone notice how Cell saga Vegeta is a lot better than his other incarnations? His other modes don’t seem to have as much combo potential and resets as he does. In Cell saga mode he can do overhead combo -> launcher -> smash down combo -> rushdown super and then reset by doing the ground grab and sending you flying back for another round of getting raped.
Oh and Oozarus suck ass.
Edit: Oh and you could also Dragon Dash right or left if you see the rushdown coming. They have a certain range and they’ll just end up being beat in speed by the dash.
So I’m wondering…how does this play on the Wii?
Really badly.
Yea thanks UnclePepe, lol I feel wrong for saying that for some reason.
Uncle?.. lol well yea that info will help cheers.
You can use the GC controller to play this on the Wii, right? Still prolly gonna get the PS2 version, but I’m curious on how it feels on a GC controller.
I picked up this game recently and I’m enjoying it a lot. I’m not quite sure how it stacks up as a fighter, but as a fighting action game I think it delivers.
I FUCKING HATE the Oozaru’s. They just gorrila-pound my ass to death, and I can’t even run away. And I was playing on the Karin’s Tower mode, and I was doing all right until I got to Cell and he just dismantled me.
just telliport out the way of hard hits, keep circling them, theyre really slow
When fighting the giants, I have my own strategy for fighting them.
First, block, and when they go for a charge attack or any slow attack, I step in. From there, I’ll either trip, or heavy finish (if that character has heavy finish). For most characters weak against wall characters, you’ll need at least medium power for any charge attack to have any effect. The invisible ki blasts (like Goku’s SST) will always affect a wall character, regardless of charge.
If you trip or heavy finish, attack with standard square combos. This is not only to build damage, but it’ll warm up your charge meter so you can reach higher levels of charge faster. You can repeat trips and heavy finishers as your combo count resets. Eventually, you might want to deal more damage quickly, so you can lift strike and do air combos for high damage, or you can use a full power smash attack and go for vanishing strikes and dragon homing.
Another way of getting around the giants at melee is to teleport behind them, and try to do a full square combo. No matter what character you’re using, the last hit will knock back a giant character, and you can step in and try to fit in more square hits to warm up the charge meter.
It’s all about hitting them hard with charge attacks. If you can also fit in landing a blast 2, definitely go for it.
Muy dificil from everything I have seen so far.It seems a little to gimmicky.
Does anybuddy know if you can use the NEW Nintendo Wii VC CLASSIC CONTROLLER???
I have to say, I was wrong about the Oozaru battles. The Mr. Satan VS battles are ten times worse. Weak ass Mr. Satan is supposed to survive for 60 WHOLE SECONDS against Perfect Cell?! Fuck no. Cell doesn’t even hold back. The Mr. Satan vs 18 match was also frustrating, in that she’d just knock me outside of the ring, or flat out KO me in no time flat.
About power blocking rush/beam supers, do you have to be in power-block mode before the super activates? I try to do it but end up getting hit anyway.
Also, I suck at teleporting out of the way of stuff. Any pointers?

discuss
Using Hercule is really annoying. But fighting a skilled Hercule without being a giant is even worse.
Present bomb can be done at melee range, and at that range, its unavoidable. Make use of that. Spam King of Dreamers as well.
When defending against rushes, always hit X to step in once they get in close. 100% success rate in avoiding the rush, plus you can combo. If you can’t hit X to step in when they rush, that would mean they either comboed you or they tried to catch you while recovering, which means you’d need to rely on O to teleport. If you teleport, aim to the side.
I’ll post my opinion on the tiers later. But I disagree with many points in it.
this is true, but im having a blast playing it with the wii controls. if i ever wanna play this game to win ill switch to the classic controller or gamecube controller, but for now im having a ton of fun nerdilly throwing kamehamehas at my tv
I don’t like Cell Saga Vegeta all that much. I like SSJ2 Vegeta much better. Primarily because he has that scatter shot attack (I dunno what it’s called in English), since it only uses 2 super bars it’s really versatile, IMHO. I also like Scouter Vegeta better than Cell Saga.
And maybe I’m the only one with this opinion, but I like SSJ1 Goku better than SSJ2/3. One handed Kamehameha/Instanteous Movement Kamehameha are way too good. I only wish SSJ1 Goku had the teleport move.
