yea you can hit people out of them with regular attacks, but stupidly it takes waaaaaaaaay to much timeing when someone does it from far away(which you think would be easier)… If there close its easy just to mash it… But again when there far they can just hold a direction to go to hit you from behidn and since you cant just attack, or block from behind your screwed and you get hit.
as for instant kill combos I know a few… But the game has such a shitty training mode its hard to tell what truely is a combo and what isnt.
Spralwers, I think we’re talking about the same stuff but somehow completely missing each other. I see the characters as clones solely because at base there’s only a few variations in the character types. The only difference in rush combos is where the kiai cannon/Heavy/Flying Kick moves are and if your character even has all 3. Now, this definitely influences your character choice if you want someone with all heavies, an early flying kick, and Governator! things of this nature, but it’s not exactly a huge leap between learning characters. Really strong combos are still the same basic steps with every character, it’s just a matter of if you hit square 2 times or 4 before you can get a particular move out.
And come on, you know full well SS4 Gogeta is the ST Akuma of this game. You can’t use him for examples of anything, he’s well beyond broken. “Normal” characters do relatively minor damage with rush combos, so unless you attempt a move with lag on it you’re not doing any significant harm to your opponent. Compared to super combos, which can do over 20k unmodified all by themselves (not including the setup or the ender damage) a 7k rush combo means nothing at all, really.
I have to agree with you there, there isn’t much to learn when using a different character.
Yeah, SSj4 Gogeta was stretching it. Actually, I recorded a vid of me fighting a maxed SSj4 Goku and SSj4 Vegeta on a team, but they fused and created actually a much stronger Gogeta. You can see it here:

After the fusion, you can tell that their stats were actually added up together to form a god awfully broken SSj4 Gogeta.
Anyway, when it comes to comboing, I do see characters as clones. When I decide the best possible strategies for landing that first hit though, the differences in characters start blaring out more and more easily.
Money match… hahaha. That’d be something.
You can make a case for this game being the most improved fighting game sequel of all time. BT1 is just a day’s progress in the months of work that BT2 took to make. The improvement and changes in the engine are just massive. It’s definitely worth a try.
Man, the Novembet T&T didnt have anything on this game ;;
I guess you mean the December issue? Is it supposed to be out? Cause I cant find it anywhere. --;;
this game creates so much debates with us, custom characters turn the game into real DBZ, u have to plan against who ur fighting before you fight
and the free mode having tag makes things MUCH more interesting, allowing you to have upto 5 vs 5 matches or even 5 vs 1 or 2 strong players
even story mode allows u to play with friends so unlocking isnt boring, everyone should throw away their old dbz games cos theyre a joke compared to this game
Ask, sorry. It’s the December issue. We got our copies about a week ago, so subscribers should have it already, and newsstands should get it around the same time I think. Lemme know what you think, I kind of rushed it but I tried to get as much good info in there as I could.
I am just wondering, are there any difference between the characters? The previous DBZ games just seem like all the characters were clones of each other with the only main difference being that SSJ4 is stronger than SSJ3 which is stronger than SSJ2 etc.
I know that there are more than 120 characters in the game but are the characters diverse or do they all play somewhat the same?
because of the view its a little simarler till you get an understanding of the game mechanics, the timing of the characters hits are diffrent even charge hits, um ki blasts diffrent, supers diffrent, trade mark moves diffrent
it isnt just like ssj4 is stronger so itll win
for instance ssj4 gogeta is the strongest, he has fast attacks that make everyone else look stupid BUT he charges extremely slow, so slow that you need to have a good strategy or ull lose, so you cant just pick up ssj4 and pawn everyone, your more likely to be the one getting pawned by an avarage player
all forms play very diffrently, and if you actually find two characters who play identicle the trade mark moves will be diffrent so theres absolutely no chance of there being a mirror match.
with all the character hores i wouldn’t the last thing that I would want is to play on-line against 20 of the same character because they are top tier.
Has anyone used that code swapping thing for your custom characters i’m working on yajirobi and piccolo. would like for you guys to go against them.
Sdbz after reading some of the post doesn’t sound like the best kind of game for dbz. limited flight, no gaurd breaks, Limited ki, only one character to mix up with.
give me budikai 2 anyday there are several different mechanics inside of this game granted that you can just fly around all day but it will only get you so far. with the dragon homing you can’t really go far without someone on your ass. The fighting is spammable but with the counters it turns up close fighting into a mind game as your spamming your attacks. most projectiles can be avoided others consume the whole field like omega shinrons ultimate attack. there’s a lot of depth to this fast paced game. I think is deserves a look.
sorry but i agree, sdbz is limited to a point where u wonder if dbz was pasted on tho, i like the game but its very small, tactical but small, should be on psp!.
dem-dem i wouldnt mind there being character whores theres always someone who can beat someone, thats why tag and free battle are there.
i would like to send my bardock but part of me thinks “whats the point? its not ME playing so its easier”, i might send it anyway 2moro
I’ll send my piccolo yeah it is preety easy to win. but against a human the gam changes especially when they know what there doing. Does anyone know of another way to go into block while attacking I use ki to end my combo short to block the CPU’s Gaurd crush attack.
brother I would like for you do that against me I would have a field day all in your back 22-23 hit juggle with blast two finisher. you can’t just turtle in this game you’ve got to use everything rush counters and all.
Whoa, calm down there boyo. That was an example for a specific situation, not me saying “hold block the whole round”. How would anyone win like that?
Also, you seem to have missed the part where I explained that “rush combos aren’t worth a damn” and “linking supers = instant death combos”. It’s like Twel(e)ve vs Chun in 3s, you can dash around all you want and maybe even land a hit or 20, but if you get hit once it’s over.
i read what your wrote and I will test it out tonight transforming/tagging cuts lag time between supers I can see how this would work as the the game pause’s while the animation is playing changes thing dramtically for me now.
The best characters to do it with are Mirai Trunks (no Sword) and Goten. Even without Z-items you can do something like 70,000 damage with full meter using those guys. With Z-items… haha, that game is unplayable.
