dragonball z owns
Nope. doesnt have those fusions.
infinite world took out the beam and burst battles, and the dragon rushes that were from bud3.
thats why people called it budokai2 ver b.
but they inserted one lame ki blast shit attack, and a parry, and a stun negate mode, and changed some characters movesets around. added a few characters.
the AI is waaay harder than bud3 though.
the mini-games were fun though.
the psp has the dbz tag 2 vs 2 game out by now i think.
So is Raging Blast 1 worth it for say…19.99 (I think Gamestop still has some copies in their drastically-reduced bin)?
Raging Blast 2 is coming out soon (early Nov.), and its demo will be up on PSN and XBL for the US by next week I believe. Maybe wait for that one instead?
@digimonemperor- Why is the World Tournament stage banned? O_o
I thought the psn demo was supposed to drop this week. I hear the xbl demo is up already.
Tenkaichi 3 is the greatest Dragonball Z fighting game ever. I haven’t tried Raging Blast 2 demo yet but from videos I’ve seen it might be good,

though I heard the controls are not as responsive and smooth like Tenkaichi series.
Tenkaichi 3 only suffers from lacking online play (and being released on a last gen system), which explains why it for the most part has no real world competitive community (like first Naruto UNS is lacking.)
some are saying RB2 gameplay wise is just as good as BT3:
Did ya forget the Wii version’s online play (even though it is not good)?
BT3 is far from the best DBZ fighting game. Two games to me tie as being the best DBZ fighter, SDBZ and SBAR.
Have you played Budokai 3? Getting ringed out in that stage is easy as fuck.
Oh yeah I vaguely remember such a thing during the Gogeta vs. Gotenks fight in the game.
RB1 wasn’t enough to interest me, but RB2 looks to have double the improvements, content and quality!

I’d be satisfied for these rules, except the transformation rule. Why can’t you pick transformed characters? It doesn’t strictly give you an advantage. My main is SSJ2 teen Gohan, but if I knew I had to transform all the way up, I’d probably pick Cell saga Vegeta because his SSJ is better than Super Vegeta. This is also the case for late Goku, Trunks and Sword Trunks… Hell, even King Vegeta becomes viable if we’re using this tournament rule. It’s bullshit to need to waste blast stocks on transforming. They should be used for defensive moves and for after using a power up move that gives you a disadvantage afterward, then powering back up to the form you want to use.
EDIT:: Also, players should be able to choose the stage if they both agree. I think a lot of people (including myself) like the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, since less buildings make it less likely your opponent is gonna bounce off some wall mid-combo and fuck you up because you were 2 inches too close to the ground or something lame like that. However, I do understand making other levels tournament usable, since they are part of the game and not THAT unfair. Especially if you main Hercule, he’d need the ability to hide.
Being transformed from the get-go does give you an advantage. It buffs your stats and gives you access to some seriously devastating attacks. I’m sure it’s not a problem for Vegito or Gotenks, but I’m a Spopovich/Supreme Kai/Zangya player and I hate to face a souped up Teen Gohan at the peak of his power with meter at his disposal. This is coming from someone who fights nothing but maxed out Saiyans online in Custom Battle.
(No offense)- First of all, in my experience, Spopovich and Supreme Kai are not very good and the matchup is just as bad against teen Gohan, SSJ teen Gohan, and SSJ2 teen Gohan. Zangya (again in my opinion), is pretty good and doesn’t suffer very much against the lesser forms of Gohan. Examples like this will work for all non-transforming characters. Obviously, against other characters who can transform, it makes the playing field leveled out anyway.
Transforming in general doesn’t give you a power boost. It changes your move set. Your character is different when they are transformed. Certain characters are probably strictly better when transformed like… Genemba? Broly? But making people start in their first transformation is a waste of time and is inevitably going to lead to both players turtling, which is how you kill the spectator aspect to the game.
Nope. Game is absolute trash compared to BT3 (before RB). Shitty presentation, MUCHO characters removed, unresponsive controls.
see we can agree on some things. high five
This rule was barrowed from the Narutimate Hero competitive scene. Because most of the transformed characters where much more powerful than the original state and when you loss all your chakra you DON’T go back to your original state. I haven’t played BT3 in a while, but at the time everyone was content with this rule. Kinda forced players to learn all forms of your character.
Also cool thing about transforming in this game: is when you do you get additional health. And players like that bonus.

Yeah I forgot to add, loser picks stage. Winner keeps same character, loser may change character. lol
MAN…NOW I WANNA START PLAYING DBZ B3 AND BT3 AGAIN!!!
BT3 > ANYTHING NARUTO UNS!!!
Real talk.
I don’t like any of the Narutu Sand Ninjas games.
I’m pretty sure that not every character gains health when they transform. By the time you get to your third form, the other guy will probably have no life left, so you won’t even get to use the character you waited the whole time to use ;(. If anyone wants to play at NEC, comment or send me a PM… I would definitely go to tournaments for this game if people would play. I’d also like to discuss just taking a rule from the Naruto games and justifying it with “some people like the extra health.” It seems a bit lame to me. Don’t get me wrong, I do think SSJ2 teen Gohan is the best character in the game, but if tournament rules are that I can’t start transformed, I could definitely find someone who massively exploits that.
Oh, I’d also point out that team battles (if only 2v2 to allow fusions) would probably be fun, and if there were tournaments for them, they need to be on infinite time because they take too long.
I’m just saying it was borrowed from another scene tested and agreed upon at the time when people were running tournaments for this (these) games.
It’s not my specific rule. I honestly favor it though. But whatevs lol.
There will probably NEVER be a BT3/B3.1 tournament ever again. So find some friends, play the game at gatherings and show its potential to other fighting game players.
Want more bt3 tournaments!!!
That sounds pretty fair to me. I feel you should be able to earn the extra power boosts.
So you’re saying there is absolutely no difference in power between Broly starting out and LSSJ Broly?
THIS!!! Game is pretty good imo. RB series is ass. Sucks Burst Limit went ASS BACKWARDS (thus B3.1 is the best in that series)!!!
And why da heck haven’t they made a Burst Limit 2 yet?
B3.1 is very solid and I play every so often. Too bad I can’t use my Saturn pad (last I checked).
As for the Burst Limit 2, I know what ya mean. Dimps hasn’t made a Budokai game since DBE on PSP (decent, but not as good as SBAR). The things I would change Pursuit back to Aura Burst, and change the Ki system back to the Base Line System. With that, I think BL2 would be good.
