Dragon Ball XENOVERSE revolutionizes Dragon Ball fighting games + there is DBO Character Creation

Yea, same here. It has a lot of really good mechanics. This is going to be the deepest DBZ game yet.

Roster is really weird.

No base form Teen Gohan, no Super Buu transformations, no Cell/Frieza transformations…why aren’t these in the game? It’s so odd.

So apparently vegito doesnt have final kamehameha again? Can anyone confirm? How the fuck do you fuck up this kinda stuff… In the last game he had mostly punch attacks which was obviously stupid since he should basicly just be a kick character like he is in every other game. They basically fix that now, but forget one of his main moves?

A character always seems to get pushed to the side in each game

No Super Buu forms is weird, but I understand the logic behind the others. Frieza’s middle forms are unnecessary, as are Cell’s. Who cares about base Teen Gohan? The way I look at it is, you won’t have to waste an Ultimate slot on his SSJ transformation and instead have an actual Attack.

…that’s probably why they chose not to include certain forms, actually lol. Who wants 3 Cell’s, 4 Super Buu’s, and 4 Frieza’s? Not me. A bunch of wasted slots.

Edit: Btw… I am pissed at the lack of SSJ Broly. Not even the suppressed version? C’mon, man… I don’t like playing as bulky characters, even though Broly is my 2nd favorite.

Now this is bullshit. One of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to anime-based games is inaccuracy. Hell, I get pissed at incorrect aura colors. Vegito not having his trademark Attack is nonsense.

Awesome battle. They should have put SSJ4 Gogeta though. Though I guess they were going for a battle without fusion (though technically SSG Goku is a type of super sayian Ki based fusion.) next they should try SS4 Gogeta, Omega Shenron and Super 17. ya seriously one of the main points of playing these kinda games is since they are always competitively iffy to certain degrees is people want to pick their characters and do their signature attacks and just have fun. Its like how the fuck do you mess that up. Looking at the ultimate video now on youtube right now looks like a lot of characters are missing some of there signature moves lol. Sigh

I only mildly agree on the first point. For example, I liked the fact that I could play as multiple versions of a character (even though I was a low tier hero who mained Nail) like playing Scouter Vegeta or Majin Vegeta. It made me feel like, even though there were only mild variations between the forms, each one was almost a different character. Of course, most people went straight to the most powerful version of their character, so I was constantly having to relive Nail getting his shit pushed in by a buff ass Frieza…

Also, is there not any sort of creator intervention here? Why are characters missing their moves?

I liked doing so, too, but some are unnecessary. Always have been. The way this game works, having all those forms would prove detrimental.

Ugh, I really would have liked to play a demo of this on PSN/Live. Why did they release it at Gamestop… -_-

Honestly I still can’t get over how janky the flying looks, why not keep it like RB2 or Tenkaichi where your character keeps their feet flat to the ground. The whole tilting 45 degrees and attacking from strange under and over angles just doesn’t look right to me at all, weird design choice imo.

YouTubers, one by the name of ChaosPunishment. He stated that a lot of the jump cancels from the network test had been removed in the full release, there are still some though. Some of the dash cancels and movement cancels he also said to have been partly removed.

Shit… Well, I can’t say whether that’s good or bad yet. We’ll have to wait and see.

Less room to create diverse combos around the cancelling system, having to stick to the basic strings the game gives you will simplify things a little. The damage you could do with some of those cancels was insane though, so you can assume they were removed for balancing purposes I guess? As long as it retains at least a few usable cancels I’ll be satisfied, Raditz still appears to be able to jump cancel one of his supers/uniques(no idea what it is) and it leads to some crazy stuff.

Edit: Note that these are for the Saiyan race. Each Race has its own unique ultimate attacks, so what’s shown here may not be available to some other races and there are ones that this character couldn’t perform.
