Iām gonna stop you right there. Now Iām going to say this as someone whoās absolutely gonna buy this game Day 1 (and probably preorder to avoid disaster of randomly being broke at that time), but at NO point should anyone be legitimately pressured into buying this game even if they donāt like the DB franchise. I donāt care what itās supposed to represent for the FGC. We went through the exact same song and dance for Skullgirls, āthe next evolution for Fighting Gamesā, āThe fighter to end all fightersā, āMade by the FGC, for the FGCā, āReal FG fans have to support the game no matter whatā.
Hereās the thing. Not only are there definitely plenty of people who do not like the DB franchise (or hates what it became after it hit Z), there are people who simply do not like these types of fast paced, team based games. I do not want people to buy the game, just because everyone tries to pressure them into it āfor the good of the FGCā. I want people who actually WANT the damn game, and like the damn game to buy it. I want the times of āYou buy this not for yourself, but for everyone elseā to be absolutely done with. This is the last I want to see any of these types of post from anyone. They try to sound good and altruistic but really, even if unintentionally, it comes across as selfish and arrogant. The only people I want to play this game, are people who actually want to play this game for everything it is.
^Not to harp on you EL, but Saitsu is right. Itās that ābuy it for the FGCā sentiment that gave us a decade of mediocre to terrible Capcpom games, culminating with Infinite DLC.
Buy this shit because YOU WANT to play it and be hyped when Vegeta jobs to Freeza, or Goku DHCs to Gohan for a screen-filling Father-Son Kamehameha Destruction Finish, and not for anyone or anything else.
I am a fan of Teen Gohan, I also would have settled for Future Gohan (Trunkās timeline), because he is also a badass. Give me my one-armed badass and the only character to die to an energy volley attack in the history of DBZ (I think).
This game has my support 100% and Iāll explain why. This game has passion and love in it. You can see they actually give a shit here. Itās not just the fact that itās a beautiful game. Or all the scenes from the anime/manga are recreated here. Itās the absolute fact you can tell they give a fuck about what they are making. The presentation in the game is amazing. This game has the BEST next Round 2+ start I have ever seen. Itās screams Dragon Ball. You can see the characterās personality in their fighting stances. You have no idea how much I like that. Goku being serious about the fight. Cell being arrogant as all Hell. Freiza with his cruel smile. Gohan showing off how savage the SSJ2 transformation made him. Fat Buu doesnāt take a damn thing serious and his stance shows that.
The game is fast, hectic and catches your eye all the time. Seeing Vegeta do a Final Flash has never looked better. Gohan doing the anti-air Kamehameha? Badass. You can tell heās not playing around. All the attacks have impact to it. When they kick you into a wall, its like you can sense theyāre trying to break your ribs. And game looks creative. You canāt help but wonder what other characters are going to show up and what assists theyāll have. You want the next update. The SFX is on point. This game makes me want to play Gohan. I havenāt been this hyped to play Gohan in YEARS.
Theyāre putting in work in this game. Just look at this. https://youtu.be/Mt4uyvJAusg?t=179
Look at what Cell does right here. @3:00. Thatās the move he used to create the tournament stage! I donāt need a perfect game. I just need a game made by people who give a damn.
And look how much personality the lifebar portraits have! Contrast this with MvC3/Infinite with their stiff stances and blank stares. This game is a goddamn animation masterpiece and has an incredible understanding of what makes people love both dragonball and fighting games at large.
The more I see from this game, the more intrigued I am. This type of fighter is usually not my cup of tea, but oh my god do they make it look fun. I am definitely going to be playing this.
I hope itāll be possible to put together an effective keep-away-team. Especially with Freeza, whoās the character Iām the most interested in right now.
Agree itās like the people making it love and enjoy doing the game. Not the love and enjoy of making profit but rather the dedication of making it everything better than the usual in animation. Itās not the improvement by making it different or changing to something else but rather being straight forward to the branding and even had better art direction more faithful than the current episode animation.
The initial presentation is not even just a teaser or a marketing gimmicks blah blahā¦ itās quality.
Physical parry on a teleport kick (meaning the parry isnāt just for projectiles). Itās basically pushblock and he GAINED meter for doing it successfully. Sick!
This. Letās not make this become like the exact same shit Capcucks are doing with MvC:I and SFV.
I LOVE Dead or Alive and if I could spend one hour trying to convince someone to buy DOA5LR and succeed, I would so fucking hard.
But I know thereās people who donāt like it, simply canāt hang with it at an advanced level and those who just plain hate it and I canāt do anything about it.
But thatās the thing about the FGC: Thereās OPTIONS.
Thereās Tekken, Soul Calibur, Blazblue, Guilty Gear, Arcana Hearts, etc.
Let people play what they want to play, plain and simple. if they are interested, then go for it, if not then leave them alone.
Well, the only reason why GGRev and BBCF (this one im not sure) doesnāt have a dub in the 1st place is because the voice actors strike that is currently happening.
Now, if they confirm that it will also have the latin american dub, this game will become instantly the best DBZ game ever.
