Vegeta was still in his “Space Pirate” persona during the Android saga. When Krillin was freaking out about #17 killing his own creator, Vegeta said something along the lines of, “Who cares? If you don’t like someone, you kill them regardless of who they are. That’s the Saiyan way as well. You Earthlings have silly inhibitions”.
That explains why he said he didn’t care about his parents and fellow Saiyans being wiped out by Freeza. He only seemed to care when he was on his deathbed. After that, he went right back to being what he was beforehand.
Vegeta was always largely an asshole in the original series, he had some redeeming qualities but he doesn’t become a true hero until in his sacrifice against Buu.
I don’t know if it’s dumb, but I’m definitely dissapointed that they didn’t go that route. I would’ve really liked an original version of Goku Black and not just Rose; Black looks cooler imo and actually has a lot of cool attacks.
Why do you people always say that Goku is a dead beat dad? He literally died TWICE sacrificing his life for Gohan, he even defied the very laws of nature in movie 9 by decking Bojack in the face from the afterlife just to save Gohan. It’s even shown multiple times during Dragonball Z and Super of him spending time with his family and working on their farm. It’s more arguable that he’s a bad husband than a bad father lol
