i believe forward r2 on the ground is a regular dash as well
Really appreciate all the people doing so much work with just the beta resources. So much cool stuff already coming out with only a handful of characters.
Just like @wakalaka, I think Beerus is a pretty strong characterâŠbut since his main gimmick can be Dragon Rushâd through, itâs hard to really get a great grasp on him atm.
But if anything, itâs really hard to poke with him on lights compared to other characters since he barely extends his reach so I feel you have to use Mids more for poking and footsies.
I have yet to be able to touch the game (and probably wonât be able to for a long time), but Beerusâ orbs seem like theyâre better to use to force a decision long range (dash through it and get punished or stay scared)/increase pressure close range vs setting up a minefield/pure zoning. Im probably way off, though.
Hereâs my first actual set of matches from the beta. Some losses and defeats I had but I still had fun despite having issues with calling out characters at times(I usually hold the trigger and press left or right depending on it thinking itâs like Marvel and mess myself up).
Iâm curious to hear some thoughts about Beerus. I like the look of his orbs and kicking them around, but if they can all be homing dashed through how good are they really? When watching people play the beta the best I saw was people using it while covered by assists or after knocking the opponent down.
He has surprisingly good normals too. How does canceling work? Can you cancel into stuff while grossing up with that one neck chop move? Assuming no.

I too am curious about Beerus, but really, for low-level play does he really need someone to cover his ass for him to set up his orbs? Kinda sucky to hear players can just Dragon Rush through them. Though said orbs would be a hilariously lazier way to stuff any type of approach.
To be fair, if you couldnât Rush through them theyâd be mad busted.
Iâm pretty disappointed his cross-up neck chop is locked behind auto-combo. Thereâs basically no reason why you wouldnât be able to block it (outside of maybe some assist shenanigans) because itâs always the third attack in his light auto combo string.
@Xhominid Youâre right about using mediums in neutral. His light attacks have ass range.

I never mentioned anyones name specifically, I gave a generalized statement, and that has been the general attitude towards me so I have the attitude towards them. I have no problems with myself morally and if anyone actually reads my posts I often say please thank you etc. Im very comfortable with myself, and if I die next time im in the hospital with a bunch of you guys hating me wouldnt bother me.
So how does that âquick reflectâ thing work? Do you deflect super quick if someone hits you with a physical move or something? Like it deflects projectiles late in the animation but physical moves much earlier?

Who do you feel has much more of a learning curve in this beta: Beerus or Kid Buu? Iâve played everyone so far and I just get the hang of using Kid Buu; his unorthodox j.M seems a bit tricky to understand and his Omega Red leg is hard to hit confirm for me. Pretty cool character with an easy Lv.3 combo
Also how do you jump cancel with Gohan?
