They finally gave an update like 15 minutes ago and said that the servers are still up and they are working on the kinks. The comment section is full of people who are still getting the initialize network error.
This game is strange. It doesn’t know if it wants to be an fun & accessive anime fighter or a legit competitive fighter
Finally managed to make it back into the lobby just now. Now the wait for the game to find a match begins.

Even when you get past that error, you better get ready to sit in a lobby for an hour waiting for a match. Lol
They usually extend the beta when these things happen, so don’t be too concerned.
Yeah the Facebook page already commented that they’re considering an extension.

Yeah I can go to the leader boards and see that there’s people that have played over 200+ matches and here I am with only 4 matches in the past 6 hours. Saw @tatsunical high up on the boards btw. Good shit. Assuming that’s him.
yea i cant even sign on either, not even a trial battle… oh well… somethings messing with kid gohan in the tutorial. He seems to have a lot of character specific combos because of how his 2 fireball works. To what extent you can take them is another story in a real match but he definitely has a lot of potential wacky stuff. Biggest things to take away is that regular air fireball combos to duck fireball. And you can at LEAST loop it once. So jump fireballX4, down fireball, then do another one. Id assume vs a big character or a specific sweet spot on the screen you could get 3 or even more depending on tech buffer.
After youre done looping this, you can then do a raw qcf+m. If you are the right distance(again hes got a lot of combos that how realistic they are is another story), dont mash, fall link a light, then go into whatever. Or you do a quick dash in, to combo then do whatever big thing you want to do after this gimmick.
Problem is you can not combo into again his 2 fireball realistically anymore that I can see and its already kinda iffy. So you have to use the regular jump fireball… This does work on some characters after a homing dash, but it would seem not all.
So most realistically in a real match I guess you could do something like just run in combo, JC, jump fireballX4, down fireball,
Then if you somehow found a sweet spot and have some crazy execution, jump fireball X4, down fireball again, qcf+m, land link, combo into blah blah
whatever you get the idea… Or maybe you dont. But basically yes his little bomb thing does have a loop, but even combo video wise it looks pretty damn hard and unrealsitic. But just the idea of comboing in and out of bomb is simple enough and seems doable to me in real matchs, and vs bigger characters or the appropriate ones for some good damage.
While in the lobby waiting for a match I got a message saying I was booted due to “inactivity”. And now I’m back to the title screen getting the “failed to initialize” message. Great. Lol

I kinda get where you’re coming from (and I’ve seen other players mention something like it feeling somewhat like a party game). There’s a bunch of stuff that can really help beginners not have to worry about a lot of things compared to other games and just reward them with stuff happening.
So nothing has changed then.
How much more damage do these kind of combos get?
