Dragon Ball FighterZ: Legendary Saiyans Edition

Just hopping in to say that last trailer had me legit emotional. It won’t be the deepest game with a big skill gap, but you can’t be an 80s baby FG fan and not get this game. You kinda have to get this game. As tribute.

I think the skill gap will be plenty big enough. Controlling the crazy neutral of marvel type games is usually the part that separates the top. People are too caught up on these auto combos lol

Well I mean I already talked about it didnt I? A few pages back when we knew it was going to happen. I said it looked cool now we see it in motion as well so im asking how they logically are going to do some of them. Im hype for it, and I hope they take it in a direction that I talked about beforehand, actually making it not visually fun in a fan and nerdy way, but also adding a gameplay element to it, where doing them could actually add something to the game and I think the game desperately needs more complicated stuff. More potential stuff. Again if they have some random thing where trunks everytime he does a shinning slash to freeza it does double the damage it usually does id think that would be neat. Yamacha takes double the damage from a green guy blowing up giving you the chances to see this scene whatever. Thats awesome. Im all for wacky stuff assuming it isnt to extreme and makes it unplayable.

Isnt this SRK? remember when srk use to be about actual strategy tactics etc. Thats what im interested in when it comes to game. More indepth stuff. I mean what do you want me to be like all my posts I want vegito because I think laser swords are cool, final kamehamhea has electricty, and he has earings so he looks sweet and i Imagine he could fuck bulma… a lot… like probably double the amount he usually can.

if you guys want to talk about simple stuff thats cool, im interested in games on a deeper level though. If people are only playing it because its a dbz game then why dont you guys play xenoverse?

I don’t think many people care about going into in-depth discussions of strategy or tactics for a game that isn’t out yet.

These “dramatic endings” things, replace intros/outros and probably the clash animation that happens when someone gets killed (like the first one with Goku going ssj is obviously that, same for the one with Gohan SSJ2).

They explained it pretty well in scans and whatnot, I find it really clear I don’t see the problem. You have to meet some condition(s) when a character is killed (for outros and clash replacing ones) or have characters who have anime interaction (for intros, tho I think they are not dramatic endings but just special intros, so just the same thing but with a different name) to have them happen.

We just don’t know what the conditions are.

Like in the trailer, the first one can be super hardcore like have Goku as the next character when Krillin dies to Frieza grab move thing (I think it’s the third hit of his auto combo) on Namek, while you never used Goku before (because else it’s weird to fight as SSJ then have him go back so saiyan to transform into SSJ again). Or it can be just like “have Goku on your team when Krillin dies to Frieza”. Or anything in between really.

Anyways the trailer is godlike.

and yet… people just posted this developer interview where they talk about the game mechanics and the guy ask so i noticed duck hp have upper body invincability. And yet… the devolper was like no thats wrong they are invincable to all air attacks.

So youre telling me, we care to post a developer interview talking about game mechanics when we dont care about the game mechanics and whats more the devolper confirms what clayton said right when teh game was announced and people didnt believe me? I wanna see more Gotenks, they keep mentioning his T-rex limbs which is worrisome coz many characters already have shitty limbs… all his normals will have Ryu’s SFV stand jab range.

how is not related to gameplay mechanics, did you read my first post on it or not? I said how they could tie it into gameplay mechanics and I said as much that I hope it is even in that post to add more stuff to the game.

The whole idea that people are posting on SRK about this game but dont care about the way it plays is complete nonsense and id think you are probably wasting your hobby time and would be better off posting somewhere else about the game than a site dedicated to fighting games.

Characters that have low range have more range than SFV Ryu, Ryu wishes he had the range Krillin has on his normals.

The short trailers are all Namco.
ASW is developing the game, but all the shit about publishing,advertising it, etc is Namco.

The game isn’t out yet for any of us to truly test it out so at best you are speculating. Once the game drops I am sure a lot of us will be analyzing the game. Goddamn, man. Now I know why you’re always sick. It’s because your head is stuck firmly up your own ass.

Yeah, I just want the special animations to be as specific as possible. I can imagine getting tired of them really quickly if they’re easy to pull off

EDIT: Wait, for some reason I was thinking these animations could also play mid-match if certain things happened. If they’re just intros and outros then I couldn’t care less how easy they are to get

And this thread is like baasically that. When there is plenty of meaningful stuff to dissect already. I agree with the cinematics probably not being a major gameplay factor, but I think the discourse in this thread could be stand to be 90% less hype/more serious analysis. But this is pretty much the same deal as every “upcoming game” thread on srk. I’m fine discussing the game in smaller circles/with individuals, but we could certainly all do with a more serious hardcore gameplay oriented American fgc.

EDIT: I actually have something very interesting to discuss with regard to fgc, I’ll post it in a bit.

IF this game is anything like Persona, which it resembles a lot, the first edition is going to be kinda dry and then it will kick into high gear with the first expansion.

Arc does that a lot actually.

I hope it at least avoids persona’s release cycle and cycle of brokenness.

Until I can actually play the game, I cannot analyze shit. Everything is still subject to Chan change until the final version. It’s why I never bothered to learn every little change in GG lok tests.

Well I’m gonna have to absolutely disagree with that, since we can already learn a lot about the potential meta from the universal mechanics. The game has been pretty stable compared to a gg loketest since we have only seen a few builds and we have little reason at this point to believe that they are going to significantly change the universal mechanics.
