I want all characters to be fun and complex. To have their own things. The problem is the idea of goku being basic but doing hella damage or whatever has not proven true right now. As a matter of fact id say damage in general looks to be fairly standardized and nothing seems to stick out to much. So then we run into the idea of what is basic? Well if what is basic is execution, execution if we are thinking about the game from a competitive stand point in no way should be a factor in this game what so ever. So now we are just at really what tools do characters have? Any id say again, look at all the wacky/novelty/weaker characters in lure if you will. They have waaaaaaay more tools than the rest of the cast. So sure at a very very basic button mashing level who knows maybe the ābasicā characters will be good, but I mean think about characters that actually have mixs ups to open the opponent can fill the screen up with stuff. I mean look at all the random moves even tien has.
Id like to go with the idea that all characters they should throw the kitchen sink at, give them a ton of stuff, and go from their. I think when you give characters to clear cut of ideas, give to many moves to many specific things they are supposed to do its just asking for problems. Unless we are to assume they are going to go the route of say something random like kyosuke in cvs2. Has his own mechanics, more moves than anyone else in the cast, tons of wacky shit he can do comparatively. But hes slow, all his moves have like zero priority so hes just a joke.
Like dont get me wrong I dont think basic is bad, it doesnt have to be, and ive posted a lot of stuff here and lots of stuff I havnt posted. but im pretty confident ive blown the game up already from all the stuff ive posted its all been pretty much true that I see. Im ready to make combo videos for the game with pretty much every characters I think I can easily show tons of crazy stuff⦠but lets talk about actual like competivenessā¦
Blue goku is missing his overhead punch from regular, doesnt have hurricane kick for easy tap tap combo to super. And even if he did⦠well the dude apparently has no kamehameha super unless you do it on the ground, and then he only shoots it straight down. Has no regular beam kamehameha. So the whole meta of, you can fly through fireballs, but not through beams doesnt apply to him, because he doesnt have a beam to slightly discourage those in the first place. And even his regular fireball appears to only shoot out a few at a time, shooting less than gokus. And we dont even know if he gets the knock down version of it. (of course this is a little iffy because only so many videos of him in action so far but from what was show, even a weaker regular fireball)
So to make up for all these missing options he⦠has a teleport⦠which just kicks the guy away and appears to not allow for a regular follow up at this point. So its not even like a teleport falling down into a full comboā¦just teleport kick you away⦠a dive kick⦠a command throw which appeared extremely slow. And a fast dashing elbow special that goes through fireballs⦠but looks extremely punishable on block. I guess I could theorize maybe it has some awesome counter hit properties? Or maybe you can time it in a way so that it hits late so you can link after it to another combo.
And then of course again⦠he cant even super in the air, and his level super auto aims down. Unless we are to use the level 3-5 super.
So ya I dunno he seems to be lacking to me quite a bit comparatively unless his moves he has are going to be just that good. But right now having trouble seeing it.
as for the bulma thing I thought it was just posted already they went back and said it was a mistake so not to worry⦠Unless it was a slip up, so now they are saying its a mistake so when it comes its a surprise and then ⦠well whatever
