Dragon Ball FighterZ: Legendary Saiyans Edition

I think Beerus is a safe bet since he was in Extreme Butoden and that game was by ArSys too.

Considering that Golden Frieza seems to be an install super, or a meter powered transformation, I wouldn’t put it past them to make SSJ Blue Goku and Vegeta installs/transformations as well.

@bchan009 nigga you better be recording all this nico footage and not just rebroadcasting it. cut the fat out of it…and show us game footage without the jabbering of these fools,.

pretty pleeeeeeeeease?

So according to the niconico stream and the gameplay snippet - the character select screen has enough space to fit in about 24 characters total, 12 from each side. I assume one spot in the middle will be for random select, and then team random at the left and right edges

So this being called DB FighterZ that confirms no characters from Super?

That would be a real shame.

I will do my best!

Gameplay footage already confirmed gold Freeza…so it has Super stuff.

Uhh… we already have Frieza going Golden, which is from Super.

I began to suspect a Form Select Option before the battle begins. Example: Replace Regular Super Saiyan Form(s) w/ Super Saiyan Blue

Life is good

Yeah. But it also seems to confirm that not every transformation is accesible outside a cinematic super like SSJ3 for example.

Well, having them all accessible would make stuff somewhat confusing, and a bit redundant. If they’re not separate characters (and I don’t think they will be) might as well just have to one people will likely want to use (SSJBlue) as the main transformation after starting in SSJ. And with that, make Kaio-Ken x what have you as part of a new cinematic super that he gains when in SSJBlue.

EDIT: Better yet, they could make it a property of SSJBlue Goku where he can charge his moves with Kaio-Ken.

In Japan, PC player market is small and from their perspective, not very desirable to be overtly assossiated with, and thus Japanese games that get a PC port overseas do not have a native PC port in Japan itself.

Over there, you get a gaming PC either for eroge VNs or western PC games.

Some tidbits from the clip (as well as from the NicoNico stream):

  • The character select screen in its current form can fit approximately 24 characters total, 12 from each side
  • The placements of the 6 characters in the demo is clearly going in the “Heroes vs Villains” direction, so maybe that will stay for the final game as well (as you can easily fill the game up with 12 heroes and 12 villains, even without going beyond Z)
  • Each character has multiple alt colors (possibly more to come in the final release)
  • Characters have regular intros (just like in Xrd), probably with special quotes
  • The control scheme seems to be 4-buttons at least - Punck, Kick, Ki Blast, and Dust/Launcher. It’s unknown if assists are a separate button or a combination of two
  • Upon KOs, there are stage-specific KOs (at least in the World Martial Arts Tournament stage)
  • The hand-to-hand clash you saw in the trailer is an animation that plays after a character is KOd and another one comes in to replace the downed team member. The match is still 1 big round like in Mahvel, but incoming characters are basically treated as a new round - your position is reset to the center of the stage
  • The combo system looks fairly similar to Xrd/BlazBlue
  • You can perform Ki Charges just like in other DBZ games. This lets you quickly generate meter for Supers
  • The game has at least 7 meter bars. I assume the maximum is 10
  • Dodges, Supers and Transformations all consume meter. Dodges and regular Supers cost 1 bar, the Transformation costs about 2 bars, the Cinematic supers cost 3 bars
  • The massive cinematic Supers also transform certain stages into something completely new. For example, when Vegeta landed his Final Flash on the Namek stage - the environment changed from regular Namek to pre-explosion Namek

Edit:

  • Much like MVC, you can still change/tag out characters as the match goes on. It’s not a KOF style 3vs3 where you’re locked until the character is KO’d and a new round begins
  • At the start of the round a lightning ball is shown under the Health bar - this is an indicator for a possible activation of the OverDrive mode from the Blazblue series, which acts as an install and temporarily enhances your character
  • Certain stages also have destructible environment. For example, the Namek stage is shown to have Namekian houses as well as the ground being destroyed by certain attacks and ground slams

DBZ doesn’t really have any “big” characters so I don’t really have anybody I want to play as. Size and strength isn’t really relevant in the DBZ universe anyways.

Kale?

I like how Capcom hasn’t shown proper matches from MvCI even though it was announced, what, six months ago? While this game gets leaked and revealed out of nowhere, and we immediately get gameplay footage that actually looks interesting and the promise of a playable demo in, what, two months?

First impression from watching that was Mahvel-neutral with Xrd graphics and BlazBlue combo system and offense.

I’m all in

Pre-order now

Goku aint doing no one inch punch outside of super saiyan blue.

Plus mvci is 3 months out, and DBZ is atleast till next year.

Capcom is trash now. The only thing they have going for them is their licenses. Everything else about the company has bankruptcy written all over it.
