Dragon Ball FighterZ: Legendary Saiyans Edition

it’s clear the M, M chain does a move that puts them in the air where you can follow with a super dash and the H, H chain does a wall bounce. this is universal and isn’t going anywhere. sorry anyone who doesn’t like the canned chain combos.

like you said, vegeta’s gut blast, cell’s bear hug are all the M, M chain enders. goku’s is a side jumping kick and so is gohan’s (p annoyed they share a number of animations like j.H), frieza’s is the krillin exploding grab & I dunno what Buu’s is.

this is a little disappointing to me but one player did show that at least w vegeta you can do the H, H wallbounce, super dash, land and then hit w 5M (maybe it was 5H?) so it seems there’s combo potential for going for longer things there.

it looks like the magic combo route is ideally gonna take you through a M, M/H, H/2H ender and then you kinda go from there depending on your character’s moveset. obviously assists will change combos and such

right but what im saying is, example right now from the looks of… Normal combo to heavy forward dragon dash, when you do launcher down, the launcher down is techable… normal combo to heavy up dragon dash, the knock down is UNTECHABLE… mash chain combo, to dragon dash up, the knock down actually knocks the guy foward and bounces off the corner allowing for a combo. Unless of course this is some weird bug when its happened… But whatever the case saying that, there could very well be instances where the mash combo IS the best combo depending on just how easy the follows ups are. \

also is there air dash combos like GG baiken infinite? maybe gohan has one vs cell and majin boo with something like medium air dash, hit hit, rapid kick land XN

Technically, GGX for the GBA had a 3v3 mode. You have to play it to believe it, it did have assists but they were bonkers.

Obscure shenanigans aside, considering that ArcSys’ games tend to have good single player content, I wonder how they’ll tackle the Story Mode.

Hopefully they’ll go Xrd style following canon, but I wouldn’t mind having some fights in between.

I just don’t want another bad fanfiction like Xenoverse…

Piccolo being the next announced character makes sense. You already have the majority of the core characters in the announced ones.

i think arcsys needs to nerf that move. make it more meter reliant cuz really. like really.

The best answer to superdash is attacking, bu the players weren’t experienced enough to do that.

yeah i know its hard to judge the game when no one knows how to play the game yet but everyone is just doing jump into superdash. not blaming them since it works so well…but the lack of footsies/spacing due to how good superdash is. …its worrysome.

2 new characters will be revealed next week in VJump. Both Team Red and Team Blue are woking on this game.

Super dash has plenty of counterplay we’ve already seen. Just give the game time. It’s over three months ahead of time.

Anyone know yet if you can call assists during specials?

I think the opposite. With superdash, you can’t just be reckless and throw things on screen, but you also have to be careful to not use your dash into someone waiting for it. Doing it fullscreen is bad because you will give plenty of time for your opponent to react. Doing up close is risky because your opponent will probably be ready to defend anything. To win in this game I feel that you need to constantly be aware that your opponent may superdash into you, taking care to not become predictable, watching the distance between you and him and mix your actions in order to bait him or straight up disrespect him with projectiles.

The developers always decide the initial rules of the game (frame data, what moves the character will have, what kind of gameplay they expect it will have, etc), they also are always the one that decide what stays and what leaves with the balance patches and revisions.
And is always the players who will end developing a meta with what they are given and push the gameplay.

For starters, this game is meant to be a 3v3 fg, but not a copy paste of the mvc series.
It is meant to be its own thing. It is why you are seeing stuff in there that has never part of the mvc series.
It is also why it has autocombos as part of the system much like with P4A, so you can already make to the idea that you can’t turn them down.

Considering this is a Bandai Namco game, who knows, specially how most of the lastest games are practically just fanfiction on the db universe (XV1, XV2, Heroes, Fusions)
