Dr. Doom Combo Thread

Thanks for posting this combo. Honestly, this combo looks easier to me (mostly because I’m already very proficient at all of the Buktooth loop variants - even while playing online) and that’s a 60k+ damage difference, which I consider to be more than “a little damage”. Thanks again for giving me my new BnB!

this variation looks very interesting and goes across the screen. i hate having to learn something new but i got to do it if i want to optimize my game. liking this combo

Use what works for you. Just note this does not combo from everywhere so in my view is not a BNB.

The first is what I use in matches unless I can do a corner combo.

midscreen bnb is still the buktooth loop. you can change/alter it depending on how you wish to make it easier/harder/more damaging for you but yeah, it’s just another variation of the buk.

Yeah, after practicing and seeing that it doesn’t always bring the opponent all the way to the corner, I’ll probably use the first one more often since it gets them to the corner faster. I just gotta get down that delay on the j.:m: so I can link those footdives more consistently. It definitely seems to work differently on some characters vs. others.

How many characters of the cast have you done this to? Are there any that you weren’t able to link or had to make special accomodations for?

So I figured out a way to kill Thor with Doom by himself without using the missile glitch. I’ll be including it in my combo video soon. Will keep you posted.

Also found a way to combo 4 supers with him :smiley: (possibly 5 with X-factor). His combos still aren’t super crazy, but if you dig deep enough, you can find completely impractical things that look kinda cool.

Kill Thor… can’t you already do this with a corner loop into a lvl 3

No, it’s just shy of killing him.

With assists it’s super easy, but I’m talking about Doom by himself.

I know clock work loves to “speed up” doom’s corner combo by whiffing air attacks that cool that’s cool.
but I like to slow it down I have found that you can land fly land in between reps. I haven’t found any ground breaking use with it yet but I like the way it looks

Speeding it up is better because hit-stun decay builds the longer your opponent lies on the floor. Not only that but it looks cooler. :slight_smile:

Don’t know if it’s been said yet, but doom can relaunch in the corner with XF3 or ammy slow activated, something like this:
X-23>ammy DHC trick Raw tag in doom, XF1, st.h, [st.s, sj, j.m, j.f+h, j.s, whiff j.h, j.m]
The last j.m will hit them on the way down, letting you just launch instead of another st.h OTG.
I know this is basically useless because just doing the corner combo by itself will kill any character with XF on. Just thought I’d share, I thought it looked cool, maybe only good for stylin purposes.

I"ve had this occur occasionally when I do the duck strong loop in the corner and spam my normal coming down. I use :m: instead of :h: as my whiff attack and if i press it too much I might get it to connect. Doesn’t seem very efficient as we can just use the loops listed but it is pretty fancy!

So i’ve been messin around with my wesker/doom/akuma team and found some tac stuff that utilizes doom’s abilty to keep the combo going from either an up or down exchange.
Now this is all done in the corner and always starts with wesker . Depending on what combo wesker starts with changes a few things with the combo, like hit stun or if you can use a assist later on. So for reference, i will start with
L M HXXqcfM dash c.M c.H S j.M j.M j.H Exchange. This would be done midscreen to just outside of the corner so the ghost butterfly will knock them into the corner.

Now here’s the fun stuff. down tac from here allows doom to go j.M j.M f.H j.S add H S j.M j.M f.H j.s tatsu assist plasma beam sphere flame for 850k damage and makes you 3 bars total(minus 1 for sphere flame). You can also end in doom time for a million plus. or you can also do the fly loop below.

Up tac allows j.M j.M adf j.M fly [j.m j.m adf]x4 j.H for 675k and two metres.this is a counter if the opponent counters down for the tac in the corner.

Now this is your basic tac gamble high/low. But up tac isn’t really that threatning, sure the metres nice but 600k is just so so.

But doing only three reps of the fly loop from either up or down tac, doom can now tac up or down to akuma . Once akuma is tagged in, j.h Ltatsu xxfireball hyper link j.S works on both up and down tac options, and from there you can tk beam hyper. This will do around 950 k, and both options get you enough meter from start to finish to do both hypers. Down tac of course grants you another meter to play around with.

My plan with this is to start with the basic corner combo down tac sphere flame ender for nice 850k and meter bonus. Once the oppenents relises that a down tac in the corner is very bad for his health, I go up tac and start fly looping him. Now I can then decide if i want to force him into a gamble where the odds are i will tac down and get more meter and my 950 k. Or i can call his bluff and up tac for just my 950 k.

So yeah, gambling the hell with tac’s for extreme damge and meter. Im sure this can be used for other teams and im sure that you can use anyone with a fly combo in the middle slot, but doom’s the only one afaik that can otg for free and combo if the first tac is down.

Not bad. I don’t like to risk the counter, but the extra meter is certainly nice. Actually, Dante is even better at corner TAC follow-up than Doom, especially if the first character hasn’t used up your assists already.

Agreed. Very nice combos Duck Strong. It’s nice to see combo videos that aren’t all about combos that are actually usable in matches, especially since some of these combos were just ridiculous.

I especially liked how you made Hidden Missiles hit on the way up, then reset the combo to effectively used them twice in the same combo. Very creative.

I appreciate the vote of confidence, but I’m not sure that will happen, lol. I don’t think Keits is exactly my biggest fan since I’ve made some pretty unsavory remarks about him in the past that got me noticed by the mods concerning both his skill in games and him as person. I don’t mean to air out dirty laundry, but he was a real dick to some friends of mine at EVO last year and I kinda lost all respect for the guy.

Whether he lets that affect things, I dunno. I tend to be quite vocal about these things and it gets me in trouble hehe.
