Hey, this is Brian from Cyborg 1. The Fight Nights have indeed been moved to Satudays from 6-12am. Since summers ended we’ve lost a lil of our regular crew so i hope we can fill the void, as im seriously itching for some new competition. We still have a solid group but the more the better i say.
As for games played i’d say that at the moment the games that get the most play are 3rd Strike, Super Turbo, CVS2, a lil GGXX, a lil Alpha 2, and Smash. I also have access to MVC2 on the Dreamcast if anyones up for that (I would think so) and a lot of other games for ps2 and the dc (like MOTW). Also feel free to bring any other fighting games you’d want, we had a group of snk guys bring in a modded ps2 recently with a few of the newer snk games like battle colleseum and kofXI. I’m partial to 3S and ST myself, especially 3s, so any comp for that game is much appreciated but i’ll play what ever as long as there comp. :looney:
As a little feeler for anyone who is currently coming or is planning to in the future any suggestions on games to play or things regarding fight night? I’m also curious as to what most of you play so i know what to cater more towards. Also a few posts back it was mentioned that trash talk isnt tolerated… that was a bit overstated, what we’re really trying to say is don’t be a dick. Friendly trash talk or good natured trash is fine and dandy, but just don’t be an ass on account of it being held in a public place, that’s all.
So i hope i see some new peeps or returning people down the line. Just one more thing before i go is that we had to cancel this upcoming saturdays event on account of it conflicting with another store event (Magic) for the 15th, but things will resume next weekend same as always. This shouldnt happen to often so don’t worry about it, i’ll be sure to post in this thread or tell you at the store if it happens. So yeah, hope to see you guys there!

Sorry guys for not posting in what feels like ages. I suck at juggling college and my love for SF.
I apologize to anyone who misinterpreted my post about trash talking - Good Humor is allowed (brownie points if you actually bring some GH ice cream…) but any insulting behavior is unacceptable. Remember the comic shop is still open for those who want to buy, ya know, comics. Just be respectful to those around you and all should be good.
Brian and I play everything, but we are partial to the SF series because we play it the most. Bring your games and show us your stuff! Don’t be shy or feel your game doesn’t go with our crowd. We love playing new things and the more people that come for a specific game means the larger scene, which is what we all want. Everyone wins if people let their voices be heard.
Lastly, I apologize for not showing up / not staying long at Fight Night. This will all change soon once I get a couple grades from my professors and see how I am doing. If anyone wants to play some OG SF2 of ST, hit me up and I will DEFINITELY show up for that shizz.

FN sounds great! I don’t know if I will be able to come on this weekend, but definetly next weekend. I really want to see what this is all about! I myself have only really been able to ‘get into’ a few fighting games, namely Tekken, Virtua Fighter 4, MvC2, and Bakumatsu Rouman. I also have an affinity for SNK fighters (I own KOF 99 and 95 but never bothered getting into it because its so hard to find anyone to play it with , and I always want to play Garou and SS after seeing a million tourney matches on-line!), so I hope those SNK guys show up again! But I will try anything (I really want to play 3s again, I’ve only played it once), and if competition is intense and frequent, then I will probably practise any game to join in. I also like several other MP games, like Mario Kart 64, F-ZERO X, Winning Eleven, Smash Bros., etc. Like I’ve said, where I live there is no-one I know to play any games against, let alone fighting games… so once again, thanks guys, this sounds great :wgrin:
I’ll try to come to one of these with a couple people for sure since I live like 15 mins from here… Would any of you be interested in coming to this?

Feel Free to update it. Iapetus, you might wanna front page it so people get a good idea of how diverse the games are. I think the only thing mentioned in the thread we havent really played yet is Tekken but if someone brings it we prolly will.
I think that is a solid list of everything that HAS been played at Fight Night, but everyone seems to have their preference for games. This goes to show that we at Fight Night play EVERYTHING and are totally open to new stuff, but we don’t have a clear list of our TOP games yet cuz the list seems to keep changing. Right now, James, Brian, and I are working on developing a Tournament system and part of that is figuring out what the top 4 or 5 most popular games are among regulars. So far SSBM, 3s, SF2 (Hf or ST???), and either KOF XI, NGBC, or MOTW and even a little GG seem to be the most popular, but that may all change next week. So if you want your voices heard, come to Fight Night, show us your games, and give us ideas. Cyborg is working really hard to accommodate both hardcore and casual players and we can only succeed if we get your input.

A) our only man with a camera, Crazymasterhand, is off at college.
B) We USED to throw down on TF. It was pretty big for a month or so, but 3s got the best of peeps I suppose.
So come on over and bring your TF game! I know I hella want a TF scene and at least I will play. I plan on getting my own SNES soon so I can try and bring it back.
