Pepperbelly’s is a bar/comedy club located in downtown Fairfield. Over the years they’ve had many events held there, from fundraisers, special parties, as well as many known stand-up comedians. On Sunday, January 29th we’ve got it booked for a tournament! It’s a great venue so let’s show them what the tournament scene is all about, and we can have even bigger events!

Also, they serve food and drinks, so no outside food please.
And although it is a bar, no age restrictions are being enforced, so all you 3rd graders bring your controllers and enter the tournament!

Bump, can’t wait to hear about this.

Pepperbelly’s back im in there ill try and bring some folks from out here wit me

I’m there!

Yo if You have a spare seat i’d like a ride. hit me up close to the tourney.

Do you have to be 21 to get in?

All ages are able to participate.

Updated rulesets, as well as the name of the tournament!

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

Hopefully I won’t be starting school but down for Sonoma/Marin Carpool!

$140 in bonus pots!!! plus a $50 from pepperbelly if we get 100 participants!!!

winners having to keep order in KOF sounds kinda weird to me… should probably check that

I feel this rule is correct, not only from personal experience and opinion, but was part of the standard ruleset from Evo (CvS2). However if players allow the opponent to do so as they are ok with it, then they can do as they please. Just as long as nobody gets their panties in a bunch XS

I hope they have got their act together or this has potential to be a disaster. Fair warning: all their monitors have a fair amount of lag, and also management has a “change anything any time for any reason we see fit” kind of attitude so if rules or $ payouts get changed the day of don’t be surprised.

Also if you want food or drinks You better have plenty of time because last time I was there it took 40 minutes to get one drink at the bar. And 20 minutes was me just waitin to get my debit card back after giving it to her for payment.

Hopefully things work out, it would be nice to have regular local tournaments, but these things needed to be known.

I understand your concerns and I appreciate the heads up, but I can assure you that all possible issues are being taken care of. The event is basically 10% pepperbelly’s efforts, and 90% my team, if not more. It’s mainly just our use of their venue. I’ve already had a couple of scheduled meetings discussing the event and how things should be handled, and the event manager now happens to be a personal friend of ours so we already have plenty of positive feedback on his words.

As far as the payout goes the bonus pots are all coming directly out of our own pockets. The only money that pepperbelly’s is adding are the conditional ones mentioned in the 1st post. 100% of the entry fee is going to the players, and if there ARE any changes it would be for MORE money to be involved.

Awesome! I’m glad they’re giving you full authority over brackets and payouts because, frankly, people outside the scene have no idea how to run these tournaments in general.

The venue itself is awesome too, hopefully you can fill that place up!

Awesome, can’t wait for this to go down

Pre-regged early. Can’t wait for the event, Kbeast!

Tempting.

Update Guys!

Looks like we’ll be starting a bit later than originally planned due to an event being held, as well as my work schedule conflict. Also, the pre-reg will no longer require an online payment, it will simply just be there to inform us that you are planning to attend the tournament, and as a reward you will only have to pay $6 venue fee at the door rather than $10. So please sign up if you are definitely going to enter because there’s nothing to lose!

I will update the first post, as well as the flyer…

Hey Guys. Marvelous Customs will also be there. I will have a service area for your broken sticks. I am also taking any pre-orders for dual mods as of now. Even if you are just interested in getting a dual mod, I would like to know so I can prep stuff for specific sticks. $80 for dual mod 360->PS3 with auto-detect, $80 for ps3->360 with switch. (auto-detect w/IMP extra $12). I will also have some buttons and JLF’s for sale if you would like to purchase.
