Double knee released provoke a backdash and down charge changed not kept after double knee

Hi,

I experience strange behaves with M.Bison on SFxT

When releasing a charge and quickly go back to charge (down-back) position M.Bison is back dashing … the double knee or PC move is not happening, just back dashing… very frustrating …

Keeping the down charge after double knee release is not more possible … You have to go forward to release the double knee the down charge is canceled, no brain storming possible more … very frustrating again …

Charm is gone ?? :-(((

No. This character is different in SFxT. You have to adjust to his timing. Some of his moves are slower and faster.

You’re getting random backdashes because this is also is free EX/free Super Art charge move. So do the scissor kick fully and then charge back, not snap the stick forward and back asap.

Why a poll? Dictators weakness is only Mon, Wednes, Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun. Yet I still win with him everyday!

I’m so used to charge buffering in SF4 that I keep getting the back dash in SFxT! It took me so long to learn it that unlearning it seems impossible heh. Muscle memory…

I’m hoping if I tap the button quicker I might get Scissors out since you have to hold the button down to cancel into dash.

Haven’t been on the game in a few days to check tho’.

The other big difference, also, is you now have to press FORWARD+K to get scissors in SFxT. In SF4 you could press down-forward and still get scissors.

Wish they didn’t change that. Not a good move for chargers overall IMO. It’s bad for bison keeping down charge, and bad for transitioning between sfxt and sf4 (and every other game bison could do this in). I’m actually hoping it was an oversight and gets patched.

What the OP is talking about is clearly a by product of game mechanics though due do sk being his charge move. I don’t like it either but I see why it is the way it is.

Perhaps if you negative edge the special input? That should make it impossible to start charging by accident. I remember Makoto had a similar problem in SSF4, and that was one way to work around it.

It seems there is a myth about this issue. YOU ABSOLUTELY CAN CHARGE BUFFER SCISSORS. That means b,f,b+k works. The only thing that is stopping you is the fact that you have to finish on back and not downback. I tested it out myself and it even says so in the bradygames guide.

I dont play bison but I wanted to tell you guys I think he’s like Raven and Rolento in that the first few frames of his chargeable move can be cancelled into a dash without holding the button. I first learned Raven can do this practicing his cr.HP loop then started testing other characters. I havent tested everyone but I know those three for sure. Rolento and Raven is so easy to do, Bisons is harder but I think its because the window is much smaller.

I’m fairly certain this is the reason for this happening with Bison. You can special cancel into the scissor kick but if you hit back too soon you’ll immediately cancel the scissor kick with a backdash, even when you haven’t held the button.

So that’s what is happening! I just started playing Bison in this game last night (used to be my sf4 main) and this was happening a lot. Very frustrating!

You could just hit forward. I’ve been doing that and my knee press comes out fine 99%.
