>Winter Wyvern

oh god my dick

Lol @ blur. Fucking walking shadow that you can still barely see, and had evasion too. Only hero that didn’t make me feel bad for picking Phantom Lancer.

thanks SJ

Patch is out today, boys.

I hope Winter Wyvern is out next week.

:o time to see what kinda work i can put in with QOP.

Man seeing Ogre’s Fireblast cast range in person… that shit is so fucking small. RIP, Ogre… it’s all ogre for you now. :frowning:

Even with BH’s buff I still feel the hero is pretty weak. Which is a shame, because I love playing him.

And good, Ogre needed a kneecapping. Dude was so good.

I think Ogre needed a nerf but maybe not one that drastic.

In regards to BH, the buffs are good but I doubt they will make him competitive. On the plus side, courier sniping as BH is even easier now due to bottle change. Haha.

BH is gonna shift to that support role that pie plays. He’s weak unless you know how to play really well and take advantage of his strengths.

Right now, he fits into a Nyx Assassin kind of role. Sets up kills for carries…but also gives them fucktons of gold.

Except Nyx Assassin ganks a lot more effectively and offers more utility in a team fight. At this point I’d say Nyx is a better pos 3 than BH, even with BH’s buffs.

The thing is that BH is more directly useful to the carry because gold. Nyx obviously has way more versatility in team fights, but if you’re in a fast-paced game with a snowball of a carry/core…BH is THE guy you want to set up kills.

While I don’t disagree, he fills such a niche spot that I would find it hard to justify putting him in a core position. Maybe things will change, but currently in the meta strong offlaners are picked up right away; BH is not the type of hero you pick up in the first two picks and you don’t want to let a strong offlaner get picked or banned early either if you can help it. A pos 4 or pos 5 BH is probably best in the right situations, although I remember EG doing a safe lane farming BH once or twice and have an offensive trilane in the offlane.

BH has always been a character where you can win one teamfight at 20 minutes and suddenly have 2000 gold on everyone on a team. With the short track cooldown, the bouncing shuriken, and the extra bonus gold, definitely feels like he could be legit.

Chaos Knight is fun, played a game with him the other day and seemed to have a huge impact on things. Seems like a good carry but the tier list says otherwise.

I think I’ll play like 20 straight games with him and see what I think about him afterwords, problems will most likely become apparent by then

Problems with Chaos Knight:

  • Mana issues (slightly alleviated in recent patch, can now cast three spells instead of two before going OOM)
  • Heavily item dependent
  • Level dependent
  • NO FLASH FARM ABILITY

If CK doesn’t snowball in early/mid game and falls behind, it becomes extremely difficult for him to come back since he does not farm very well. The only item that he can get to help him farm is Battle Fury, but that item doesn’t have much synergy for him outside of his low chance crit (Arteezy has been building BFury on CK lately in pubs). I think BFury is okay on CK if you are expected to farm for the first 20-30 minutes, but you need to heavily rely on your team to 4+1 for you.

If he was able to win a farm fight against anybody the character would be ridiculous, because his ganking ability is way better than most hard carries.

Itemizing him to overcome that issue seems tricky. You can either pick up farm aids (which are absolute trash on him because he’s an illusion hero - thunder hammer is underwhelming, bfury doesn’t offer much, radiance is shit because he can’t farm with his illusions) and seriously hurt his itemization but get him to lategame slightly faster, or strengthen his early/mid game and try to get a train going. I guess that decision making is the difficulty of the hero though, and hopefully I’ll learn more playing more games with him

My greatest fear right now is picking him and having a teammate go “WAIT I KNOW HOW THIS GOES”, and then flowcharts out a Wisp pick despite having no idea how to play the hero, then makes terrible relocate calls and generally just makes the game horrible.

CK is one of the hardest carries in the game, but he can “fight” early if he can land his combo (stun, phantasm, reality rift, but even then that means you’re not fighting until level 10 lol). IMO he should just be played as a hard carry and just try to grab a bfury and hope you can farm up some good items. Wisp CK used to be the shit. Now… not so much.

5 solo players should never get matched against a 4 stack.

Yeah, CK is terrible. The fact that he can’t farm ancients and can’t efficiently jungle damns him. Even if you get a battlefury, it does little for him in teamfights since his whole thing is rifting individual units into a bunch of illusions.

If he absolutely stomps the other guy in lane, a snowballed CK is basically impossible to deal with. But unless he gets a very, very large lead very, very early, he just isn’t good.
