Would tinker really blow march in the laning phase just to knock down refraction?

March is great for pushing the lane the mid lane out and rune control, forcing the other player to either take damage to get exp/gold or further back potentially

Yeah, March just does everything for you. Pushes the creepwave, giving you rune control, making you harder to gank and forcing your foe to lasthit under the tower (which TA should handle fine, but for other heroes it can be a pain). It also prevents your opponent from going aggressive on you, since they’ll end up taking more damage running through it.
And if March wasn’t enough, Tinker’s laser negates 100% of TA’s damage output for 3 seconds. I’d run a Tinker vs TA without second thought.

March is broken.

Weaver and QoP beat bat mid pretty easily. Gyro can just farm the lane without fear of dying because bat can’t dive past barrage

I’m a TA user as well. In fact it’s my most succesful hero, % wise W/L. Usually, when I am mid, I only get 1 set of tango and rush bottle then boots then rush the dagger. I usually get dagger around 7 or 8 min depends on the runes I get. If I get 1 or 2 haste, then most of the time that assures 1 or more kills for rushing dagger then go on raping from there.<br />

When I am assigned to sidelanes, I get a soul ring for mana boost for ganking, then boots, then dagger.<br />

Dagger is essential for TA because you can use it for escape and initiation.<br />

I don’t get Power Treads or Phase Boots before dagger cause it delays my dagger which would give me the early kills, but it also depends on the game. And the MS, AS, DMG you get is not that significant. Also, you don’t need the HP boost from Treads if you know how to manage your refraction and its cooldown.</div>

phase opens up a fuck ton of kill opportunities (+24 dmg off of meld -armor is far from insignificant) and brown boots into dagger sounds awful and magic stick is hardly a counter to batrider. You still have to back the fuck off after 2 napalm stacks or you risk dying but the free mana to spam refraction is nice but again refraction isn’t going to save you if the bat decides to dive you at 3+ stacks.</blockquote>

Like i said, i get dagger fast, like around 7 or 8 mins. If I haven’t, depends on the game, I’d probably go phase boots. But dagger is easy to get and by that time, squishy heros are only around 3-6 hits.Use psi-blades properly and your opposing is gonna cry foul. For christ sakes, that skill is dumber than Pirate’s tidebringer. You don’t have to be near your opponent to inflict pain. You just have to properly position your attacks on the creeps. If you suck at that, then you shouldn’t be using TA.

And anyone who lets a bat stack 3+ is stupid or a n00b.

Bat’s napalm range is greater than TA’s psi blades, so how are you getting a 7 minute blink dagger if you aren’t close enough to get stacked? As long as you’re farming, Bat is applying stacks. If being stacked 3+ times makes you stupid, being a Bat and giving the opposing TA a bottle, boots and blink in 7-8 minutes makes you even more stupid.

Yeah I don’t see how the hell TA is going to get blink, bottle, and boots at 7-8 minutes vs Bat unless you level up Psi Blades to assist in your farming and to avoid Napalm stacks… but then your mid-game suffers pretty bad. TA is just not going to win against Bat, assuming equal player skill or without heavy assistence from supports ganking mid.

I don’t know how you guys play but I’ve pwned probably most bats I’ve encountered. Usually they a couple of hits with refract at level 2 and 3 makes their hp pretty low that diving inside tower range is never an option. Actually QoP with his poison and long range or Huskar with burning spear or Viper with poison are harder to deal with than bats.

Using pub experience as an argument against Bat countering TA is pretty frown, IMO.

I mean not a pro by any means, but I’ve used this build since dota 1 in local tourneys. I win more often than not. So… am not fixing which isn’t broken, I think.

Is there a pro league player in this forum? Since you only value pro league players experience.

A quick glance through this thread will tell you that it’s obvious nobody in here is a pro. Of course a pro players input isn’t the only thing that matters, but at the same time, you can’t just spout “TA with wand owns bat”, just because you’ve owned bats in public games. I’ve outfarmed and gotten kills against trilanes with Death Prophet, but I’d never say that Death Prophet counters trilanes… Know what I’m sayin?

You clearly didn’t understand what I stated. I only said wand is a counter to bats? I never said TA with wand owns bats. You are just putting words on others mouth.

And I also said as far as my experience goes, I seldom have a problem with bats unlike the other heroes I stated.

Bat can counter TA all day but it doesn’t matter cause she’s never gonna be in lane anyways!

Also, I’ve refused to play this till Valve gets off their asses and releases Tuskar. They honestly better be gearing up for a tri hero patch cause this is getting ridiculous.
