No, I haven’t. I queued up in matchmaking and tried him out. He’s cool. I like his siege/aoe gimmick, and I really like ice path. But his numbers just seem really low and ice path is a fucking bitch to land.
What do you mean by his numbers? And as for Ice path, usually you’d need someone else to initiate first, it’s got a cast time.
His damage. I never felt like I was really doing too much besides rustling their jimmies. Although I guess it’s offset by his relatively low CDs. I’d love to play him, but he felt lacking. I’m sure if I ran combos for max Macropyre damage…but then again, even Ursa is good in the right comp.
On another topic, I’ve been derping around with Invoker recently. Seriously practicing with him, going into teamfights trying to think about how I’m going to use every spell I can remember, trying to invent some builds for him, even finding a tool on reddit to help with everything. Part of me wants to drop out of school (metaphorically speaking) and become an Invoker player, but it feels like I’d be taking away so much from the game, and I’m pretty sure I’d never get good enough to make it worth it.
Plus Axe is just too much fun. Good day, sir!
Ya that’s her name.
I just remember blink in, poison, scream, sonic wave and dagon if needed.
Yup, she’s in. She’s actually become a popular pick in the competitive scene as of late too.
how about a viper during late game?
Invoker is one of the heroes i wish i was great with… i tried to practice him just for the sake of inserting him in my top 5 but he’s very complex to me. I usually just go tornado to that mana draining move (forgot the name).
Heroes that can silence and do DPS can give him problems (Drow, Silencer, Doom, Death Prophet) since he can’t rely on his orb effect to do DPS. Heroes that can chase well (after a team fight and Viper is trying to escape) and/or do heavy damage can give him problems late game. Chasers like Night Stalker, Lycan, Spirit Breaker, and Slardar, or a heavy DPS like Huskar. Most of those heroes are strength heroes, which probably means they can 1v1 Viper assuming equal level and about equal gear.
Anyone that carries harder than he does, really. Which is about every actual carry.
We had a Morphling already on our team, hence me going tank build on Viper. The success comes from them not focusing you down due to being tanky but not huge DPS, but as the fight wears on and people get lower in HP, Viper starts to do pretty good damage.
Hate to double post, but it’s been a few days and I got a few things to say. Why the hell did they mess with the HUD so much? The only change I like is the damage/armor/MS/stat area, but I hate how all the item icons got changed. Most of them I don’t really like at all. Also, what the hell did they do with Lion’s model? I hate the new, fat toad looking Lion.
Lion model? Ok. Lion portrait? Neckgina.
Meant mainly the portrait, yeah. It’s just awful.
I, too, do not like the new Lion. Playing as dirt is just boring.
You guys are wacky as fuck. The new items looks like actual finished compared to the old ones. Check out cyborg matt’s comparison and you can see how unfinished things like urn and Mek looked.
And I’m a fan of the new lion, he looks very menacing and his textures are leaps and bounds above the old one.
New ui is amazing too, visually it makes the game look more complete, things like the courier showing who it’s going to is a godsend and is overall stunning imo.
Hell, Radiance fucking glows and pulses in your inventory!
I’m super excited about the changes and increase in overall quality. Y’all niggas are trippin.
Just played it for the first time on the weekend.
It was fun stuff!
Lot of nostalgia.
I don’t know why most of my friends hate on it, I think they are just tired of MOBAs.
I am sad there is no Tree or Centaur yet.
Tank heroes for the win.
Also realized that Naix does not have 3 passives anymore.
TOO BAD
There were several carries that played very similarly to each other and needed a rework. Viper, Naix, and Razor ALL had the Frenzy ability (activate to attack lol fast), so they needed to be reworked. I don’t even remember what Naix’s old Ult was, but I think his only active ability back then was his Frenzy.
Old Naix was like O.Sagat though.
One of the most imbalanced characters ever.
Like I said before, 3 passives haha
[]Life steal (PASSIVE)
[]Enemy slow (PASSIVE)
[]IAS + MS increase (PASSIVE)
[]Ult was a 20 second rage of immunity to spells.
4 agi gain per level. He could permabash anything with one basher and no IAS items.
O. Naix will always be godlike.
Oh yeah that’s right… he had retard AGI gain and had that IAS/MS increase passive ability. Nigga was the king of auto-attacks.
Old nai’x was unuseable and a terrible hero. He was as much a joke character as techies, and barring techies, easily the worst hero in the game (maybe tied with spirit breaker). While he did have high agi gain he had next to no strength and was terrible in lane. I remember in all those years of dota, 1 game where he got picked and it was just a IHCS scrim (not a real comp match). Loda went mid with him and lost the game for his team.
When SB gets remade you will probably get a bunch of kids saying how “OP” and “awesome” the old SB was.
Actually SB has the best lines in the game. Such a cool hero. Too bad he is ass.
