Buttons with completely broken tabs and even shaved ridges will still fit snugly in those old Mad Catz SE cases. Might even be the… case… with all Mad Catz cases, but definitely not with Hori.
Believe me, I paid an even higher premium for those Sanwa OBSF-30RGs and was pretty bummed when I broke them. I thought I’d never be able to use them again, but then I had a light bulb moment and realized they’d still work in my Mad Catz Wii TvC stick.
Dip the ends of the broken parts in acetone and fuse them back together. They’ll still be brittle as fuck but at least you can install them one more time. Shoegoe for extra support helps a good bit, too.
It is all snap in buttons that has this issue (all brands too, not just Sanwa), clear buttons has this problem in spades as clear plastics tend to be more brittle.
Its why for myself personally I stopped using Snap-ins and use screw ins instead.
RosserRooster had this issue 5 years ago and it’s still a issue now.
tbh I snapped most of the buttons that I took out of my TE2 when I first got that - luckily I’ve never had to change the clear OBSC’s since (though I do have plans to change the artwork soon… =/)
