Massive chance of this not happening, but I hope they add that card game from the Gamecube game in as a mini game or something, was actually kind of fun.
I thought v3 was the card game?
Requirements for me to play:
- No Sonic Team. Seriously, if they’re the dev, everything else below doesn’t matter.
- For Rangers, a cover system and half-decent, FPS/GoW-style shooting interface.
- A skill system that’s AT LEAST as good as Diablo 3’s, or if D3 ends up sucking, Torchlight 2’s.
- Halo-style vehicles, with turrets and other passenger slots, and Halo’s awesome twin-stick driving interface.
- If it’s NOT a true MMO, no monthly fee, or at least something really small.
Dr. B couldn’t save this game if it’s another Sonic Team abomination.
What you described sounds nothing like PS(anything). You don’t want to play PSO…you want to play something else entirely.
No, I totally want to play a PSO game. Just one that isn’t horrible.
- Sonic Team has proven, time and time again, they can’t make games.
- A cover system for ranged damage dealers is being looked into for The Old Republic, so the concept isn’t unfounded. It actually makes sense; it’s what a Ranger would do.
- Given that PSO is just a slightly better version of Diablo 1, a better Diablo-style skill system is not an unreasonable request. How about unique weapon skills for hunters and rangers, and unique techs for forces? Or something like Torchlight, with both skill trees AND spell scrolls? Lots of possibilities for character customization.
- Vehicles make everything better.
- Fees suck and I don’t want to wait for a game I want to play (if PSO2 even is one) to hit Schtack’s.
Dr. B could save the game, as it turns out. But he won’t, to teach us stupid humans a lesson.
Yeah, Episode 3 was a card game…and that’s precisely why I avoided it. I don’t really have an interest in card games…they just don’t entertain me at all.
*I’m also hoping it’s NOT one of those MMO style things where you absolutely must pay the monthly bill just to keep playing it. That’s a goddamn ripoff, imo…and it still surprises me that the majority of the fanbase for those kinds of games just kinda rolled over and accepted that foolishness: "So, I pay 60 bucks to get the game… I go home to pla…"
Company: “heyyyy not so fast…you also have to pay us an additional monthly fee of 9 bucks.”
"eh?"
Company: "So you can play it, of course. That 60 was just to get the game disc out of the store. You have to pay us again so you can actually play the game. We’ll provide extra content later of course…but you’ll have to buy that too, y’know…it’s ONLY 9 extra bucks…plus whatever we charge for the extra content later…"
MMO fans: “Oh… ok. Sounds reasonable to me.”
I at least want an offline option, for when and if I don’t want to play online. With PSU, you could at least still play it offline without having to pay the monthly bill. (the upcoming DCU:Online on PS3 will apparently be worthless if you’re not paying the bill…not worthless as in “single player, haha, who plays that?” I mean worthless as in it LITERALLY does not have an offline mode. Ridiculous. This also reminds me that the AOTI expansion for Phantasy Star Universe was a similar piece of bullshit, at least on 360. You could ONLY play it if you were playing online and paying that monthly bill. You could NOT play AOTI stuff offline on 360. Eh, whatever…the portable versions came out later and shat all over the console PSUs anyway…heh, this is still something I find quite amusing.)
I just want a world map, PSO’s pretty much instanced dungeons over and over again and with the scale that MMO’s are going these days, I don’t feel like a triple A product can get away with the Lobby>Town>Dungeon 1-10 repeat formula.
Obligatory “Don’t fuck this up SEGA!!!” comment
anyway hope it gets an awesome offline mode like episode 1 & 2 and not like PSU
omgomgomgomg. i hope im not doing anything important for, uh all of 2011.
the instanced dungeon thing could work if the rest of the game was blindingly awesome, but yeah a world map kinda deal would probably help. Maybe something like how guild wars does it?
i hope theyll take a look at the items/classes and tweak them a little. in pso it there were way too many useless items, and the best weapon for doing damage to something whether you were ranged or melee was usually a charge _______. as cool as it was to pewpew everything with hit% charge vulcans (best weapon in the game, buyable at shop with some telepipe mashing) it would be better for the game if a larger variety of weapons were actually “good”.
cover mechanics for pso arent necessary imo. the game is already kinda dominated by ranged weapons anyways.
I also liked PSU (still play it every now and again on 360 since the PC servers went down), but it definitely had flaws. The handhelds were good because Aksys Systems made them, which is why I’m praying they’re making this and not Fuckup Team.
You already have one of those, go play PSO on Schtack.
I do agree they need to do some updating as far as the battle system. However, putting some Gears ripoff cover system and vehicles doesn’t sound like PSO at all.
By the way specs, when Japanese games get stuff from Western developers…we get shit like that new DmC. I blame you directly for that abomination. :razzy:
Honestly I wouldn’t mind a cover system for Rangers, it does make sense especially with a better first person targeting mode for those moments where you can’t normally target a mod with auto target. Vehicles & stuff like that though? A bit to much.
for real, no one has mentioned challenge mode! i wouldn’t buy another pso without it.
Oh god…where’s my Vayja?
I did play on Schtack for a while but I gave my awesome RAmar who has a disproportionately high freeze rate with Rabarta (I’m convinced the freeze chance is based on ATA) to my cousin.
My ranged requests were more based on remembering the boredom of playing my RAmar, who was so ridiculously easy to play, even when I wasn’t using my Spread Needle. Something to vary up the shooting would be nice. Of course, when I suggest a cover system, I also mean “shit has to attack Rangers from range.”
I stand by my “vehicles make everything better” argument. I also ask that you forget Shadow the Hedgehog for a moment.
DmC is part of my plan to conquer Earth.
Dr. B didn’t design new Dante. He wouldn’t do that to us, his chosen ones.
I remember playing the demo of PSU on xbl, and seeing how many people were playing it without fee’s. Now imagine all those people bought the game. I’m sorry, but I ain’t paying $$$ for a lame MMO that can’t compare to other MMO’s. Make this shit free, and half assed support it (and try to come up with a decent DLC), and I’ll buy it.
Please God, no world map and no vehicles. It’s like you’re trying to sabotage the game.
yeah nothing like paying for xbl and then a hunter’s license on top of that
something I could never bring myself to do
- PSU was ass. PSP looked cool. PS Zero played decent, but lacked a good 5 character party. I’ll be an optimist, about this game, until the metro-sexual robot designs start coming out of the woodwork. The Hunter’s License crap needs to go, though. People pay, for online gameplay, now. No need to throw us under the bus with fees that only apply to JUST ONE GAME. If it tops Sthack, I’ll be impressed.
I also hope that they either don’t charge for online or put in split screen and proper single player, at the end of the day after playing games like guildwars and diablo without reccuring fees, it doesn’t make much sense to be paying to meet a few friends then go into an instance for the actual playing.
