Holy shit, I was totally not expecting this. What a great way to start the morning. 
The only thing I’m a bit iffy about is that there’s an actual version you do pay and that it’s better than the free version. 
Yeah I really hated that shit. I remember back in my old Ragnarok Online private server called CakeRO, there would be these “donars” who got all these OP equipment and there would be almost no way that you could beat them in PvP or the weekly Guild Wars. :sad:

If it worked like JP PSU cash shop then it was basically a pay to win setup. For instance, grinding weapons was ridiculous too as you could just pay for the system to repair your 7/7 PsychoWand back to 7/10 or something along those lines.
I’m not really looking forward to this game like I was before. It’s still exciting but not nearly as hype, especially with this bullshit news.

They really put in a bunch of shitty male options. Not that I want to screw around with my dudes junk, they just need way better options that are unique, something that I feel they never really worked on or bothered with.
On another note, they should really bring back challenge mode. Tons of fun to be had there.

Being an F2P game is good news for me, but the comments are seeing this as a bad thing. They seem to equate F2P with poor quality.
Maybe if they took the Guild Wars route, they’d feel differently?
They stressed that all basic features that include playing the entire game are free. If you want shit to make the experience better, pay up.
This is honestly the first MMO I’ve seen (if that’s what they call these things, I dunno I’m old) that doesn’t look boring as balls.
Most f2p games are poor quality, and guild wars isn’t f2p on the same level as what most are referring to. To play guild wars you have to buy the boxed game, so they get SOME money. With PSO2 you don’t even do that so SEGA might very well not make ANY money from a large chunk of the population who will never buy anything from the cash shop. I mean, a lot of people still eat up cash shop stuff (looking at you vindictus!) specially if the barebones game is missing things like a decent amount of storage/bag space (LOOKING AT YOU AGAIN, VINDICTUS!). I’d rather have to pay like $5 a month sub with a cash shop for additional $$$ and even have to pay for the client even if it’s like $20.
All I know is that this game better come out in the states or I’m gonna have to slap a bitch (a Japanese one preferably then get her to sign me up for the JP version of the game).

Got 96% into level 98 and then quit the game because fuck it if I was going to grind for 4 more hours to get that 4%. Had +8 to all gear too . This was way before transcendent classes and all that other new BS.

So it appears that SEGA will choose their 100,000 participants for the beta through a lottery, and in order be in the lottery, you have to make a Sega ID.
Only problem I have is that I keep getting the message, “Please use a Japanese-enabled browser.”
Check the section there that says “sign-up”.
Although that guide is for firefox, the same kind of principle probably applies to any of the other browsers out there.

Be sure you cop the benchmark and see how good your rig can take PSO2. Also the characters you make in this demo can be saved for use in closed beta.
