“Max-out”?
His slashes, or air slashes. His sonic-boom, whatever it’s called. He says “MAX OUT” in the US version of ST, so that’s what I call it. Sounds a hell of a lot better imo. As a kid, I always thought he was throwing out his demo discs, because you know, he’s an up and coming musician. Gotta get his music out to the peoples.
He says “air slasher” in the english SF4.

MK Tsumuji - st.LP - sj.kunai - this will stuff all of her Cannon Spike BEFORE she goes airborne. So no possible juggle state, if she mashes, she’ll just loose to your kunai. As you land behind her, if she mashes Spiral Arrow/Ultra, she’ll go the wrong way
Neckbreaker - b.MP - sj.Kunai - Exactly the same details as before
And I saw FWord doing this during the WGC:
Raida - forward dash - HK cd - HK cd : will make you end behind your opponent (or in front of him if you end with MK cd) and leave you enough time to hit meaty
Another question:
As I’m practicing safe jumps these times, i noticed some stuff. Taking neckbreaker - b.MP - j.HP as an example:
Beats everything Chun-Li has except… Her ultra 2, which will hit you while you’re still airborne.
Beats everything Cammy has except her ultra 1…
Am I doing something wrong?
Cammy’s SA’s don’t have any invincibility. It should not be able to get her out of vortex.
I don’t know why the safe jump doesn’t work on Chun. Perhaps you’re timing your safe jump really late?
Neckbreaker b+MP j.HP doesn’t work on Cammy. You’ll land before she even gets up. Use Neckbreaker cr.MK j.HP instead.
Good to know. I’m pretty sure your timing is off on your Chun-Li and Cammy setups highlighted in Bold. I can safe-jump Chun-Li all day long and anything she does won’t hit me, including Ultra2. And as I recall, Cammy gets up either a frame early or a frame late, or some shit like that. I think the standard b+mp safe-jump setups don’t work on her off of a neckbreaker.

However I am still surprised about Chun-Li. I always plink the b.MP to be sure, I’ll have to try it a bit more to confirm that, will do tomorrow

By the way guys. The hitbox safejumps for 3f DPs do not work on Ken.
I’m actually not sure. I played against a very good Ken today who showed me the actual use of Kara shoryuken : avoiding this kind of jumps.
I’m at least sure that back throw - forward dash - SJ LK gets stuffed by a Kara shoryu. I’ll have to try with the others to confirm.

It should definitely work on Ken. Kara adds extra startup to his dp, so I don’t know why it would suddenly counter safe jumps.
Does the backthrow , forward dash , sj.LK crossup? Are you sure he’s not just simply autocorrecting?
His kara shoryu caught me earlier in my jump (before going down), the LK is supposed to crossup but it strangely didn’t. He told me he was sure it was because of the kara-extra, but I actually wonder if it is not just his MP shoryuken (which is a pain). I’ll try tomorrow
I have a question, I got a lot of trouble when fighting against Ibuki. During wake up, how can I know if the Kunai cross up or not ?
Take into consideration the knockdown, what she does before she jumps, when Ibuki jumps, which jump she does, and when she throws the kunai.
For anybody looking to master blocking the vortex, I’d suggest either to play against Ibuki for like 100 matches, or go into training room and get a feel for the vortex yourself.

If he is punishing the kunai vortex with lariat, you’re timing it wrong. He can punish any Safe Jump with his EX atomic suplex, or armour cancel it into U1.

Safe jump? It covers most of his escape options. If you think he’s going to EX grab then don’t safe jump.
When Zangief is down, the best thing to do imho is:
-Non-crossup kunai and land on the other side, so if he EX anything he’d go on the wrong side
-If he’s not a Lariat fan, jump in target j.HP MK, although it’s pretty difficult to land this one
-if he’s a command grab on wakeup fan, empty jump/command dash mixup to backdash/neutral jump
-Still if he’s a command grab masher, and you’re feeling stylish today, empty jump/CD mixup to Raida/U1
Playing Gief is usually as hard as playing Gouken, since you can’t really only rely on your okizeme game and you have to step up your footsies. Gief = ULTIMATE PATIENCE.
(of course, those advices don’t make me good at the Gief matchup >_> )
I didn’t read the Ibuki guide, but I usually don’t have any problems doing a hitbox safe jump to stuff Lariat and make EX everything whiff.
