I never got kazegiri while doing this. But this might be because I start my command dashes from down back

I would do this but not until the 2012 patch hits AE PC. The only reason I’m able to tolerate making all of those charts is because the loading time is almost nonexistent on PC, whereas the loading times are ridiculous on PS3/360.
Thanks Niko for this information. I’ll update the first posts tomorrow =)
Btw I think it would be a good idea if you could format this thread to be slightly more organized. Maybe something like the
It has a massive amount of information and it’s extremely organized. Just my 2 cents.
PS- Everybody better start spitting out mixups in this collaborative attempt, I don’t wanna be the only one sharing
I’m not really much of a mixup guy. Basic vortex and keeping my opponent in it is good enough for me. As well as good control of frame trap/throw setups.
Also I mash dp whenever my opponent is called NVNiko and is playing Cammy.
Stop it. Stop fighting.
We’re not fighting I was just joking, lol:)
Btw I’m eagerly waiting for you, Poppololz, Saunic, and Buktooth to drop some secret gems in this thread. By now, mix ups shouldn’t matter all that much with Ibuki if you play her solid. That’s why I’m willing to share whatever I know.
All of my stuff is in Rev.3, including everything F-Word has hit me with. I’ve just come off using HJC Focus Level 2 in the corner after TC10 and it works like a Palm, albeit beating every Ultra with a little bit of vulnerability.
Although I’m slightly happy I made your little “list” there, lol.
P.S. Might want to give Damascus a nickname before he reads this. lol.
Oh right I should list him as well. Sorry for me deleting this it’s just hard for my conscience. I’ll keep it posted this time.
Izuna aka "conceited"
MingoDynasty aka "prick"
NVNiko aka "discovered everything before"
eltrouble aka “who?”
**littlesushi **aka “thinks everyone is bad including Popololoz”
**Damascus **aka "…
I haven’t known him long enough to write a description of his posting habits.
Damascus the french guy.
I tried to keep it as politically correct as possible.
Damascus “is a huge fan of School Rumble” guy. At least according to his profile pic.
School Rumble is hilarious, though I feel bad for that character so much.
Why not just extend this thread and call it like “I’m too busy having fun! The Ibuki Rushdown thread”
After a long time of boring practice with safe jumps and footsies, this thread has inspired me to practice what I like to call, “controlled rushdown” (pro way of autopiloting, obviously), and I now believe this is how Ibuki is supposed to be played, although not all the time and not at first. Abusing cl.st.HK xx SJC cd combos, launcher resets, Kazegiri xx FADC resets, f+MK, TC7, air kunai, TC1, and command dash to stay on your opponent. Basically trying to end the round within 10 seconds of getting a knockdown.
The problem is that you really need to be on point, as any decent opponent is just going to put up a brick wall against your “random” pressure, and any scrub opponent is just going to mash dp (like me obviously), and you cannot drop any combos or have any execution errors otherwise your momentum is completely gone. It also requires that you have good reactions to keep your opponent pinned down (eg: punish teleport and jumps) and that you are constantly making reads as to what you think your opponent might do, not just blindly do your setups and hope it hits.
The reason I call it “controlled rushdown” instead of autopilot because you’re still making reads on your opponent and you (should be) are catering your mixups to stay unpredictable and counter what your opponent wants to do/expects.
Sorry for the long rant. It probably has nothing to do with this thread.
Gosh, this is the most creative nickname I’ve ever heard
(and School Rumble is probably the most hilarious anime I’ve ever seen, along with “Highschool!Kimengumi” Harima Kenji is just the man)
Niko, you’re right, this Makoto thread is awesome, I should reformat this - add spoilers to save space as well.
Mingo, why rushing would mean you don’t have fun? I have more fun vortexing my opponent to death than looking a Honda straight in the eyes and wait for him to decide something…
I have a whle lot of fun when I happen to vary my vortex too much for my opponent to decide what to do, and force him to just bet on a solution
I think Ibuki is very much a momentum character, meaning you rush down when you feel you have the advantage in doing so, and pulling back and playing conservative when the opponent is in a position to begin a comeback. I think if your opponent has limited options to stop your rushdown, and/or they’re mindfucked into holding down+back and crouch-teching, then it’s excellent o begin a controlled rushdown. Otherwise against a smart, veteran SF4 player, who knows the Ibuki matchup and isn’t afraid of her mixups, you might want to consider playing at a more methodical pace.
But I agree that your execution needs to be on point, since players tend to enjoy mashing DPs during difficult links and attempts to punish SJC mistakes. It also requires being very comfortable with your character, yourself, and your execution to be able to maintain an onslaught of offensive pressure without any fear.
Damascus “The Napoleonic Terror” has a nice ring to it. Patriotic and frightening.
For the record I love School Rumble (the anime), and alongside Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu, is the funniest anime in history.
I actually prefer outplaying my opponent without the vortex, if the matchup demands it. People tend to bitch whenever Ibuki begins her vortex, saying she’s a no-skill auto-pilot character, etc etc etc. So I get the satisfaction of knowing that I can outplay someone WITHOUT a mix-up heavy game.
For example, once I get an opponent in the corner, I don’t do anything fancy at all. i just sit there, at just beyond their poke range, and throw basic blockstrings and attacks on them. You’d be surprised how limited their options are, once all you do is st.mk xx tsumuji, or cr.mp xx tsumuji. Ibuki is pretty scary when you trap someone in the corner and just keep them there.
+1
Well, depends on our playstyle, but for now I’d say that my victories highly rely on my vortex capacity (when I say vortex, I’m not implying kunai vortex, I’m rather implying untechable knockdown -> any safe jump/mixup/kunai). I still have some difficulties playing correct footsies and maintaining a good distance, I’m still working on this but I sometimes loose my handle on the space in a very stupid way (something like he jumps in -> I don’t anti-air, or he sweeps while I was taking a step forward to stay at max range…). I’ll be playing with Evans, aka one of France’s best Fei Long along with Starnab, this may help me keeping the good distance and master space.
EDIT: Edited the first threads, formalized them, added some stuff, such as Niko’s advices and videos
