I need to share something personal with all of you because you supported Don’s Arcade.
Practically all my life I’ve lived in my beautiful home and neighborhood but I knew all along that I wasn’t gonna live here forever and my dad was gonna sell it to cash in. Well my dad’s been retired now for a couple of years and the time is coming soon. About five years ago my dad bought a more modest house in a modest neighborhood. It’s on the border of Carson and Torrance but still Torrance. It’s near Harbor UCLA Hospital near the 110 freeway. It’s gonna be the house we are gonna move to and I’m sorry but honestly I hate it. But I can’t do nothing about it.
The reason why I’m telling you this is because the days of Don’s Arcade as you know it are numbered. I don’t know if it’s gonna be six months from now, a year from now, or two years from now but it can happen in the near future. When I move I don’t know if I’m gonna have arcade night anymore. It all depends on how things turn out. It also depends on how strict or liberal the new neighborhood is gonna be about me having an arcade night.
So in the mean time enjoy this place while it’s still here because the end of it as you know it is coming soon. I’m sad because I realize how much I love my home but that’s life and it must go on.

It would be sad, but what can u do, ur dad is doing the right thing too I believe. He might be able to buy at teh house he is selling cheaper down teh road, with the way our gov’t is running teh value of our dollah into teh ground.
Hopefully u can make it out to arcadez or other gatheringz if Donz Arcadez in its current form haz to end.

I’ve only been going to Don’s arcade for a short while now but I already feel like I’m a part of it. Guess I’ll just have to enjoy the shit out of it while it lasts.
Hopefully we’ll have six months to a year and a half left but it all depends what happens.
But yesterday I learned that the wheels are turning and the transition is beginning. I just want to put everyone on noticed. I visited the other place with my dad yesterday (I hate that place) and it’s so much smaller. I have no idea where all the cabs will go. But I’ll find a way. I have no desire to sell my cabs but you never know what will happen.

FYI that corvette use to be my Uncle’s who sold it to my dad before I was born. My Uncle has cancer now.

I know it’s not my business to know what’s going on so you don’t have to reply. I am just curious.
No worries. My pop always told me when he got old that we were gonna move to a smaller house. He said the house would be too big for him when he was old. My grandma use to live us also but she moved to the Phillippines to live with my Aunt 3 years ago.
My dad is also a frugal modest man who doesn’t spend money on anything. And he likes to save. Hence why Kainzero says he never fixes the corvette and it’s true. He’s paranoid about money which understandable because he grew up with a father who left him. He doesn’t even give me any money which is fine too.
So he just wants to cash in and have more money. Especially now with a crappy economy. He thinks all the space we have in the house now is unnecessary. He also has another house and he’s planning to sell that too.
For me it’s ok because living in a small house will just make me hungry again to live in a big house again. It’s life man.
Because I like the So Cal FGC community, I’ll try to keep the arcade open in one form or another but no guarantees.

Sounds to me like your pops is a very money savvy man. Not a bad trait. Kinda reminds me of my dad actually. His pops died fairly early and for whatever reason, he always looks toward the best possible way to save money. He has this thing where we need to share the one drink among 3 people to save money lol. Only applies to free refill places of course. He even calls himself “cheap ass” for that.
