Evo was sooo… hype this year. Shouts to Galzpanic, erosentinel, Jint, Upa, Disturbed and the rest of the guys that come around. Next year i’m def getting my own suite at the venue :). See you guys in UMVC3…
My highlights of tourney would have to be in no particular order.
Perfect Legend doin the Dougie after he won Mk9 tourney
Tokido getting blown up by Dawoo i believe in MVC3
Justin FUCKING Wong activating J-Factor with that Akuma comeback
Noah the kid getting it in with that hulk standing S. That kid will become better overtime once he gets used to maximizing his damage output with his Bnbs.
Erosentinel using that Dark Wesker to take a game off of Flash Metroid. lol flash def turned it up the next games after.
Mike Ross getting that Free win when Dr ray blew himself up. Talk about LOL of the century.
Mike Ross’ awkward face when Dr Ray blew himself up to give up the win, Viscant’s focus-power-hand motions all through the top 8 of Marvel, and Sanchez walking off the stage after winning one round in a set during 3rd Strike.
arcades in all of asia are all like that because they either live in tiny apartments with 4 other people or because consoles are expensive so they have to leave the house to play games.
they also suck because you can smoke inside the arcade so it always smells like ass.
only a handful of people play super turbo in japan. it’s exactly like the US where, if you want to play, you have to find the hardcore players and follow to them to certain arcades on certain days. there are many arcades with st, 3s machines that get no play, you can’t just go into any arcade and play against someone.
after getting the latest AE guide i was really disappointed. it has frame data and it has some hitbox data, but the strategies listed are simple and you can learn more reading dated threads on SRK. the advanced tactic listed for sakura is her options after double otoshi - charged fireball on block in the corner. the advanced tactic listed for juri is just a safe jump. there’s no matchup information and nothing really unique about it that separates it from strategy guides put out in the US.
Those ball tops have to be able to spin that way. It’s what makes the sticks work as well as they do. It’s how I go from forward to back without having to lift up my palm. Slide your fingers from right to left and pull.
Or something like that. I really think I’llbe there thiis Friday. I got my card, too!
We shall have a gathering today starting at 7pm. Anyone and everyone is invited. The more the merrier. I’ll be going around to collect the E fee so please have it ready when I ask for it. Anyone new who is interested please text me at 310 344 9367.
I think I played my best Ibuki last night more than any other night. I still have no answer for Lenin’s Yun once his mix-ups get going though, but I’ll figure it out…hopefully.
