lol, I don’t mind fighting ibuki
We all know arcades are dying. The proof is all around us. I honestly think the future of arcades is with console cabinets, that way you can have a variety of games on one cabinet, and you don’t have to keep buying new hardware. Just purchase the software license, and you’re good to go.
These constant updates are fine, as long as the minor changes made to the game are made free. I don’t mind paying for new content, such as new characters and game mechanics (previously known as sequels), but I’m not going to pay $30 every time somebody changes a few numbers of frame data, or move some hit boxes back and forth. SF4 has had a profound effect on newer gamers, so that there’s always so much to enjoy about the game, not to mention these constant updates always make the game different enough to spark people’s interest in the game.
The only contenders to SF4’s dominance has been Marvel, and that hasn’t so much detracted from overall tournament entrants. This, along with TTT2, and a variety of other good fighters, and we should see some pretty interesting majors popping up this year with games that appeal to all hardcore fighting game enthusiasts.
it wasn’t a sobriety issue. It’s because you were pressing buttons non stop and not skipping over the answers you knew I’d know. I lost because I suck, though.
I also noticed I didn’t block much. I wonder why.
I don’t know, Lenin. I honestly went in thinking you would outplay me, so I just played the match up as text book as possible to be safe. I just didn’t think you would respect me so much, which is why I anticipated a Yun pick after things didn’t go so hot for your Ken in the first set. Then again, I’m used to guys like Nica and Yuuki just being on my ass all day and not letting up.
I actually was supposed to pick Yun from the start but I kept forgetting when it came time to actually pick a character kekekekeke
I give respect but in doing so I forget what I can do that is “OTT” enough to get you to stop pressing buttons so I can experience my sweet 3s again.
Genei Jin usually instanta-stops most people…or just picking Chun. I’m terrified of Chun. The best thing Ken can do against Ibuki that’ll get her to stop pressing buttons is to whiff punish or outdo her in footsies. Tic throw conditioning doesn’t usually work on me these days, so I normally ignore them and jump. If Kens aren’t doing hit-confirms into super with every other normal, I have even less fucks to give, honestly.
Tonight we shall have a gathering. Anyone and everyone is invited. All are welcomed. The more the merrier. I’ll be going around to collect the E fee so please have it read when I ask for it. Anyone new who wishes to join us please text me at 310 344 9367.
Hope to see y’all tonight:)
Well I got some sad but hopeful news. I told you like over a year and a half ago that I was moving and sometime in January I’m moving. But don’t worry I’m still gonna have the arcade and continue the tradition. What else am I gonna do lol. I’m still gonna be in Torrance but I’m moving from the border of Torrance/Redondo to the border of Torrance/Carson.
The bad: It’s gonna be a much smaller house and I’m gonna put the games in the garage but since its smaller I’m gonna have to figure out where everything goes. I’ll make it work.
The good: The neighborhood is right behind the 110 freeway so it’s actually much easier for a lot of people to get to.
I’m familiar with this neighborhood. It’s a predominantly Filipino neighborhood. It’s actually the neighborhood that I originally came from and it’s my old house. All my cousins and Aunts live in that neighborhood. We actually know more people in that neighborhood than we know in the neighborhood now lol.
I just wanted to give you guys a heads up and to come on over to make the most of the gatherings we have left here. I’ll still own my machines and games so the arcade will still keep going.
Don’t worry I’m fine I knew about this for a long time already.
Best of luck with your move, Don.
Thank you Sir
The good news is that I’ll be much closer to the freeway and easier to get to.
That’s good to hear. But it’s nice that you’re moving into a nicer community with people that you know. Gotta get away from the stuck-up white people, lol.
I hope the transition goes smoothly for you. It’s a pain in the ass moving from house to house, believe me, I’ve done plenty of it in my lifetime, and it never gets easier. Must be extra difficult with all of the extra arcade cabinets and stuff.
Look forward to future games with you brother.
Thank you Sir.
It’s all good. I knew I wasn’t gonna be here forever. One night three years ago I even told Shizza (Remember him from long ago) that one day I was gonna move.
My cousins and friends are actually more upset about me moving than myself lol.
But regardless. We still have this month and some of next month here. So anyone come over if you can.
Actually eltrouble if you and millertime want to go on a date you should go to my neighborhood at night during the weekends. It’s Christmas light crazy and it gets all crowded and festive here lol. It’s the Sleepy Hollow Christmas lights festival right now haha.
Well, I think you’ll be a lot happier in your new home, since you’ll be surrounded by good family and friends, instead of people suspicious about the only Filipino guy in the neighborhood.
Yeah, we’ve got a lot of good neighborhoods in the local area that go NUTS with Christmas decorations. It’s not even like an official city-type event, just a bunch of neighbors who dedicate a lot of time and money to try and outdo each other.
We’ll try and organize a meet-up for one of these Fridays with Texas_Size and the Arkadeum boys. I missed the last one since they didn’t bother telling me that they’d be going for sure, lol.
Ya we’re one of those neighborhoods that go nuts. Everyone is the South Bay and beyond jams my neighborhood to see the lights. I don’t mind it’s once a year.
There’s a good and the bad to each situation. The good in being in the Torrance/Redondo is of course the nice movie set like neighborhood and the big house and the privacy. The bad of course is being treated like a second class citizen and criminal in your own neighborhood by the police.
The good in the Torrance/Carson is the neighborhood is family. The bad is that everyone knows you and is nosey and more relatives just come over to your house more and sometimes randomly lol. That could get annoying.
On ya eltrouble if you need anything for tournaments like my supergun, feel free to borrow it any time. When it comes to my arcade stuff I don’t have a collector’s possessive mentality, to me my arcade stuff is meant to be used for fighting game events. You’re one of the people I trust and like to help out. So feel free to ask anytime.
Btw is the fighting game community losing its head? What’s up with the Hello Kitty TE Sticks. I know I once said that Street Fighter was like the male version of Hello Kitty when it comes to its popularity and longevity but this is not what I meant. Not a fan of the Hello Kitty TE.
If people like the Hello Kitty TE then why not?
There are mods that have the Hello Kitty art already.
You’re right. I gotta be more tolerant and accepting. Everything is so different now lol.
Tomorrow we shall have a gathering. Anyone and everyone is invited. The more the merrier. Anyone new who wishes to join us please text me at 310 344 9367.
Something weird about dudes who have Hello Kitty stuff, not going to lie. Only kids and asian women are allowed to have that kind of stuff.
Here’s my opinion/outrage: The way i see it just the constant feminization of the Street Fighter culture. I’m not making a moral judgement. I’m just arguing for taste.
But regardless if its all for being for Street Fighter being a more inclusive culture than that’s fine. You don’t have to censor Hustler magazine and prevent freedom of speech but you can charge it for having poor taste.
This I do agree with.
See, one of the main reasons why I enjoy Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie is just how raw and fierce the movie is. Seriously, watch that shit again. It doesn’t feel like an anime in the traditional sense. The Blanka vs. Zangief fight gave me a feel of a real underground street fight. Then we have the Vega vs. Chun Li fight that has TWO feminine characters BUT, they are basically killing each other in an all out brawl. This shit is for men lol. Shit is intense.
Reminds me of Hyper Fighting. Everything is so fast but pure (no super combos). A few wrong moves and you are dead; like a real street fight.
