I think I answer this questions on another thread but no there will be no update for the Arcade cause arcades are death, and I’m happy they keeping it console only.
If I can finish up my work at home, I’ll try to make the trip out to your place, Don. I haven’t been practicing too much beyond messing around with new Urien unblockables and Yun. =P
looks like i’ll be able to show up today. this time i’ll bring my pads and get a few games of KoF (just got the game today so i’m pretty scrubby, but i’m having fun with it so far) , or i might just hit those 3S machines if enough people show up to play them
19 win streak, and I choke before number 20 yet again. Just…sigh. It’d be nice to have an additional 2-3 years of experience with Ibuki under my belt. I’d be so cool with mah gimmicks, and make everyone hate me for my cheekiness. I wish I could DP and not care like you, Don, but I’m just not at that level yet. D:

Dude, I almost didn’t go myself because of how tired I was. By the end of the night, I couldn’t even run half the cast without being absolutely mediocre. Oh btw, I dropped Athena just recently for Kyo (Mai, King, Kyo for my main team, and Athena, Leona, Goro for my kicks and giggles team). Beyond her just not having buttons for effectively doing much, I seriously cannot be asked to do fairly difficult bread and butters that do ass damage. The Ibuki mentality of ‘fight hard, lose harder’ is getting really~~~ old now, thank you very much.

i’ve dropped every game i used to play and now i’m playing KoF13 as my main game. i hear that you guys have some kof players now? how many regulars/kof setups do you usually get? i’ll definitely try to come out again one of these days if you guys have a regular kof scene!

Hey Dave long time no see. Ya we got a little KOF scene here. Regulars like ALAX, Mr. 12, and Galzpanic love the game and play it hard. It depends on the night if there are a lot of KOF people. Sometimes we have one setup and sometimes we have two. But the quality play is always here. Hopefully we’ll try to expand our KOF player base. I think Karafail and Smashfury are also trying to up their game. Naked Snake is also a KOF player. But KOF is a great quality game so I hope the popularity grows. It all depends on the night which night has competition. Like last Friday for example it was a all UMVC3 night. I had three setups. It just all depends who shows ups. But who ever shows up I play it by ear and change the games accordingly. But I always start with two UMVC3 setups, one SSF4 AE, and one KOF XIII set up. If one setup is dead and there are people waiting for one game I’ll take out the game in the dead setup so people don’t have to wait and just play. But ya come over when you can buddy and show your KOF skills.

Looks like I’ll be moving up to San Francisco for a job. I know of Southtown Arcade up there, but still trying to figure out where the other gatherings are.
Thank you Don for giving me a place to play and learn, and for putting up with me being drunk/stoned half the time. There’s no way I’d still be playing fighting games if it wasn’t for you and your place. And of course, thanks to all the players who beat me down over the years and made me a better player.
I’ll definitely try to make it to a Don’s Arcade gathering in the future when I visit LA.
Wow that’s kinda sad you’re leaving but at the same time I’m thrilled and excited that you get to move to San Francisco. It’s a beautiful and exciting place. I wish I could also live there one day and New York as well. I’m happy for you bro. Good luck.
No thank you for using the most of my gatherings and getting better. You were there when I first started this so you’re one of the OG’s. I’m glad my place helped you get better. I saw the evolution. You started for lack of a better term a scrubby pad player with Ken into a really beastly Bison that would destroy my Ryu. That was actually quite impressive the speed you went from being ok to being really good. You are one of the great ones who attended my place. The way you improved your gameplay is a great example of what my place did. I’m proud of what you accomplished here.
I’m happy for you man. Has it been already three years since we known each other? Time flies. You’re like family now. I understand that we can’t stay in the same place all our lives. We need to grow and travel and explore and evolve and accomplish things. That’s the beauty of life and that’s the beauty of my place. When guys leave there is always new blood coming here. But where ever you go in life just remember you’re always welcome back to my place.
So again good luck on what ever it is you’re gonna do in San Francisco and I hope you make good buddy:)
