Does using a stick get easier with time?

Hello everyone. So I’ve been using an Arcade Stick for about 3 weeks now. I am comfortable with it, and the best grip method I feel comfortable using is the Daigo method, but my execution is far from perfect. For example, I really struggle with doing QCF x2 ultra when facing to the right. I can do it on the left easier. I also struggle with doing FADC into Ultra. That is the hardest thing for me. Then sometimes when I do my Bnb (c.mk xx hadoken), the shoryuken keeps coming out instead and it messes me up and I get punished really bad… How long will it take for me to overcome these things??

Just keep practicing it, it will come with time don’t worry.

Go in to training mode and look at your inputs as well to give you an idea of whats going wrong.

The short and only answer is. Yes.

Practice but practice correctly and you will only get better.

I has similar things happen to me until I Made excessive use of training mode. I actually made a real training plan which I do every day.

  1. Practice all special moves on each side. Do at least ten in a row without messing up
  2. Practice parts of combos. For example cr.MK. xx Hadoken or St.HK xx Shoryuken
  3. Practice BnB and Punish combos. Each side as well
  4. Practice Ultra setups
  5. Practice crossups

This takes me between one and one and a half hour. I started seeing results after one week Ehen I won my first ranked match and dropped like 50 % less combos. Just keep practicing.

Same problem, do not fear the stick and do not get nervous as best as possible when doing inputs.
Remember what you used to do on pad and whether or not you’re doing the same on stick. Riding the outer edges for specials the same way, just a bigger range of motion. Although that sonic boom/super cancel is gone it seems.
