Does Ken REALLY = 3rd Strike?

“Whosoever shall be guilty of rape, polygamy, or sodomy with man or woman shall be punished, if a man, by castration, if a woman, by cutting thro’ the cartilage of her nose a hole of one half inch diameter at the least.”

I liked your taco truck post man, nobody else did, and that’s the treatment you gave me. Well, it was more neutral than many others. Can we talk more about tacos rather than whatever the hell this page is about? We’ve strayed real far from Ken in 3rd Strike.

Ken has a Target Combo, BnB.

This isn’t BlazedBluu. You don’t just “learn combos” as people will tell you when they are asked for help. Try to learn the game.

Close Medium Punch is slightly faster than Fierce and close Jab will not benefit you at all. It also has a good attack proximity, “Hitbox” right in front of Ken moreso than the other punches which are more situational, IE: they work better as the 1st choice of attack in different positions. So opening with that gut punch gives you the ability to go right into Fierce and Special Cancel or Super Cancel. That’s what most people will just tell you to do with Ken or any character. Here’s a wiki and combos. Auto pilot thru them hit or blocked. (You’re also left to try to find out how to earn your way in to be close enough to do this BnB!)

That isn’t a good idea and there are benefits to not finishing the Target Combo. You can of course stop after the close Medium Punch was blocked. Its a good idea to stop there, a “Confirm” to see if your attack hit before you do the next 1 or 2 parts and leave yourself wide open after they block it all. Even if it hit, you can now decide your next action rather than telegraph your next move to someone who may have that scouted and the ability to (Red) Parry a Target combo with little effort.

After that Medium your Ken will be at advantage, denoted in “frames” where he can act first and the opponent is stuck in Blockstun or Hitstun. Having an attack blocked by your opponent really resets any situation, and can provide an opening for them, even at your advantage. So you want to be seeking information or are already thinking 2 steps ahead after the Medium to start offense, and more likely better offense and bigger damage when you earn an opening.

That large enough advantage of plus frames after the Medium can even show you that you can delay the Fierce slightly. MP–HP. This may benefit you to blow up Red Parry by changing the timing, if they are so bold and skilled enough to do that, or simply catch on to you not changing your rhythm and attack usage ever. But that may be end game Ken, don’t worry about that too much other than to learn you don’t need to mash out the Fierce after the Medium.

So what else can you do with the advantage after the Medium gut punch there? You can now move freely before your opponent can for a new position. This helps you get out of Throw range to bait, evade, and completely counter your opponent if they are trigger happy to try to throw even immediately after getting hit with a Medium. You can make this a mind game of sorts, to attack with MP, did they not throw? Walk up a step, MP again. Walk up then Throw now. Its relatively fast in practice, seemingly air tight to anyone less experienced with it. You can also block, hence being at plus frames or frame advantage, you will be able to block any Attacks or Supers they throw at you in retaliation after it. Not Command Grabbing moves or Grab Supers of course. It may be smart to block and learn how they first react as an instinct to the Close Medium you threw at them. You’re gaining information as said before, to use later.

Baited that Throw and they’re stuck grabbing air for a long time, left wide open?

Blow them up bigtime after getting in their heads to force actions and taking risks when they learn just blocking it out isn’t safe from everything.

Word Strike.
Just wrote this out, perhaps not the best guide, and maybe some of ya’ll don’t need it but just some manners and shit like that, fiber in your diet, vitamins. But maybe this side get’s more traffic than old Ken, how to do things with him in his Character Forums.

Renic has this visually though, including the bold ass Red parries, including blowup of that attempt, in a youtube tutorial doesn’t he? Corner game, most of the options probably. Someone even tried to use it for their Sean… :razzy:

Whenever I see a long ass post, I just skip it and hope someone that responds in a shorter post makes sense of what the long post was saying.

this so much.

Vampire Savior is almost as godly as 3S.

also I rec p4u too, its new, looks good, is awesome, and has the auto combo to get new people started.

Play Alpha 2, it’s a good game

I wish you good luck (with that)! - Ken

dude wants double help. hmm, you do that with videos too? Okay so Renic said good luck being a Red Parry master.

No worries if you think learning Ken isn’t going to help you in 3s though, or you can’t learn by reading… oh man. Okay, learn best through reading, some people are better learning with needing the best help, in person walkthru explanation or video and walkthru and director commentary and explain maybe why each player did what they did, or at least one of them. That’s fine too.

Jungle mode in that one is not as Juggle fancy as Genei Jin. “Activate” SWEEPKICKPPPPPPPSPECIALSPECIALSPECIAL That’s exactly how some guys play OE…!

I don’t know what the fuck you said but nobody is gonna learn 3S via reading, I’ve read nearly every god damn thing on 3S and I still suck. I need experience period.

congratulations on reading…

You gonna tell him his words were written with 2nd grade understanding? If you didn’t read his stuff broken down simple enough for everyone, you missed out on a lot to make you a better player.

mah super sick necrrrro :nunchuck:

Lousicipher wasn’t a bitch, asked straight up for more insight, clarification. Instead of :crybaby: <-- read what that smiley word is in its url.

Again, it’s been noted when you type nobody understands what you’re saying. We’re not trolling you. You have the sentence structure of a 2nd grader and we’re all expecting you to at least have a high school level education.

/Creativity is gold, but I see that you ain’t up to that./ - Del the Funky Homosapien - Its about Time.

Change the subject all you want, yeah that last one doesn’t sound like trolling. Where is your High School level of reading if you can’t understand what other people took the time out to write about 3s for you. Not mine at all mind you, but if you need to give me any criticism, be constructive.

Criticize my thoughts on Ken’s MP if you can. Discredit any of that. Without the wit that you think is pretty cool but it isn’t.

You read something then you work on it in practice, with live opponents too. You don’t just grind shit out “and through osmosis” learn what the hell to do. What if the character you’re playing against a lot and you learn how he plays, doesn’t play the same way when a different person is behind the controls of the same character. What the fuck do you do then?

You’re going to want to have a gameplan going in or more knowledge on the matchup by other people who have played it more or have success with it. Live video is really good too, and like I said, even better if the players who were in the match can go over what happened and what they wanted to do, what worked, etc. That is more rare and I agreed nobody just learns through reading. Visual learning is another type, just as good and very worthwhile.

I fucking love AKUMA-HAX, please respond and let me hear some more of that poetry you call talking.
