Does Capcom do SNK better than SNK?

This is the epitome of a bump … BUT

I got NEOwave and . .WTF . .it only reinforces my question.

<<<<not suprised

Is this considered thread necromancy? And im only typing this cause im tired.

On topic: Capcom takes the time to make better SNK sprites but other than that i dont if they do it better. But I dont play too much SNK.

Well . .play some more SNK, and you will see th elight!! :encore:

EDIT: and I AM. . da FULL METAL AlKHAMIST!!

This is what happens when GD goes away. I didn’t even see this thread back in April, and the only reason it’s alive now is because nobody has anything else to do.

I’m surprised nobody has mentioned MVC2 yet. Why would anyone care about how Capcom does SNK chars when most people seem to really prefer MvC2 or 3s? CvS2 isn’t exactly the hottest game around, and I don’t think anyone ever really liked it. It’s just there is nothing new to play.

Ultra rugal pwns

I would say its a bit of both myself,

they both have their own style’s though so if either of the company were using the other company’s for a vs game then it would feel like that companies other fighters, same with s v c chaos where most off the capcom fighters felt like snk ones.
i do feel the capcom fighters are much more chunky in gameplay that gives it that little bit extra but the neo fighters are a bit more fluent .

well if u played CVS then u would know there is know need to answer this question…it’s definately yes!

Capcom should take the fucking time to make their own sprites better first before rehashing most of their own and redrawing someone elses.

SNK usually has a bigger roster in their gameplay and also coupled with the fact that they are using the ? yr old NEO- GEO while Capcom was constantly changing out their arcade machine. SNK shines in graphics when the roster is small or the characters dont have many moves. ex Last BLade, Garou, Art of Fighting (3 in particular), Fatal Fury, and Samurai Showdown.

When you have a game like KOF you can’t exactly expect it to have the best of sprites. with 27+ characters with like so many moves and a pretty extenisve system. ex Kyo with his aragami and dokugami chains.

I have also heard from certain people on this form that SVC Chaos sprites looked good (Demetri Sprite in particular)

Although Terry is fun to play in CVS2.

I like him better in KOF,and Mark of the Wolf.

His regular Powergeiser has good priority, crossovers, powerdunk can trade off with jump kicks at times, unlike in CvS.

Just do a comparison:

SvC = shitty gameplay, lasted only a month (maybe less)

CvS = decent gameplay, still being played

I think the correct comparison is SvC vs. CvS1, since those were both companie’s first cracks. I think SvC is a terrible game, and I kind of liked CvS1, but most people hated it and it was pretty broken. I don’t think SNK can actually put together a decent SvC2 though regardless.
