Does anyone know how to get seasonal jobs in alaska?

Okay I was talking to Nate’s brother about this for a while at Thanksgiving and I would really like to make some quick serious cash. It seems like other than knocking over a bank or selling drugs AK has all the scrilla for uneducated plebes like me.

I am wondering how I can get one of these jobs… I don’t really have any connections up there. I am imagining putting all my shit in storage and going up there for a few months and saving some stacks and comming back down here and getting a 1 bedroom apt when I come back. I would love to be a lumberjack or something outdoors. :looney:

Those dudes on the fisherman boats make hella money for 3 to 4 months work, but it’s a dangerous job so yeah.

You have to know somebody already doing that shit before you even get considered for a spot. They are hella stingy in just letting anyone get these jobs since you can make 20-40K within the span of a few months.

I’m trying to get one of these too! A friend of mine told me great things about a canning factory a couple years ago. I wasn’t worried about it then, but now I want in. Can’t seem to get a hold of him though =/

Maybe Josh would know? He’s from Alaska, I think. I haven’t seen him in ages though. Is he still around?

jtm is practicing his White Lotus ™ stance atop a melting iceberg as we speak.

my neighbor is from alaska and recommended checking the anchorage daily news paper in the classifieds or classifieds from other prefered cities. he said its kinda hard to get on those crabbing boats unless you know someone, the best way is to go to the ports or bars… best of luck!
