Does anyone even play as the console-only characters?

I’m talking about Dee Jay, T. Hawk, Fei Long, and Guile. Well, I already know nobody wants to use Guile, but I’m curious about the other three, Dee Jay particularly.

I assume there’s not much developed about these characters, since they all mostly appeared on not-very-good ports of SFA3, but I imagine there’s something. I just want a basic rundown of how each character works, i.e. good normals, general gameplay, BnBs, and maybe V-ism combos if people actually have them.

And I’ll admit, I just think it’s funny that Dee Jay always sticks his hands in his pants.

I like to play Fei Long. He is alright, I think. I think he should do a bit more damage, though. His crouching fierce has a lot of priority, though. I find it hard to combo with him, though, since most of his crouching moves are super cancellable only, and the close standing ones are the only ones that 2-in-1. In HSFA, I do like him in Green Ism, since the chains give him a bit of extra comboability.

guile is hella good in ce mode…

Ask the SFZ3 Saturn owners… They dig the extra characters IIRC.

Well I use them, what I want to know is- why are they considered not tourney worthy or such?

The console only chars are a great addition but they will get mudered in a tourney,
maybe a real good Fei Long player might go somewhere

Actually, V-Deejay is supposed to be pretty good.

I only use fei-long hes pretty good but had pretty bad normals

V-Deejay *is *pretty good.

Though I temper this statement somewhat. On the much hated PS1 version of A3, he was awesome. ‘MaxOut’ had like no recovery time. I haven’t got as used to him in hyper and proper versions of upper with his shitty new recovery time.

Fei Long (A) is very solid, mid - upper mid material. PS1 (& DC Saikyo Dojo) version of Deejay was just stupid, comboing after Air Slasher … yeah right

Ok, let me talk about the Upper versions. (Alot of those things is also good for PSX/ DC version.

On Console Dee Jay was very good. A lot of character have one or two good pokes, I mean really good pokes. But Dee Jay? All of his moves were very great. They were awesome when it came into ground to ground situations and AA situatuons. He was the absolute A-ism character. ( a good V-ism character to) people said that he held the crown with V-Akuma for the #1 character. And on DC/PSX this could be true. On Upper he is weaker. Ok, but what does he get? In Upper the V-ism is weaker. (V-ism as whole.) A-ism charges faster now. Dee Jay’s projectiles have a slow recovery now that is true, but you still can link from the LP air slasher into his cr.lk. (And now the Corner monster aka Dee Jay returns!)

Fei-Long. His AA DP special has high invincible frames. With the lp version of his DP you can go through Fireballs. He can link near s.mk into cr.mp XX super. His cr.fierce is one of the best pokes in the game. Ground to ground or as AA uses. In the corner you can do the multihit throw with Fei-Long and connect his AA super after it. Sure your enemy can flip after this throw, but then he will still fully get hit from this super and because he reseted himself, he will get extra damage. (ok, just full damage from the unreduced AA super)Fei-Long is perfect for the A-ism escpacially in Upper.

T.Hawk. Look up his VC’s on youtube. One user have posted 3 very good VC’s. He’s perfect for the V-ism. In V-ism he can make use of the OTG, has a unblockable, do I need to say more in terms of V-use? ^^
And here’s the another good stuff. His 360 throw creates 4 points of stun. And the second thing is and please listen carefully now. Those 4 points won’t reduce!
Let me explain a little more.
Stun points will reduce after a certain time of no connected move. The move just have to connect it doesn’t matter if it’s a hit or block. So let’s say your opponent has already 30 stun points. Then he is near a dizzy. If you do hit him for let’s say two second from now, then he will reduce his stun points to zero. If you hit him with a move the stun points will go up and if you hit him but he blocks then the stun points won’t reduce, but won’t increase either. If he now doesn’t get hit for a certain time you now what will happen. Right, the stun points will reduce.
But T.Hawks 360 (the Mexican Typhoon) will create 4 stun point who won’t reduce. No matter how long you don’t hit your opponent. I call them Mexican Typhoon Stun points. (MT Stun points) Let me tell you the things you should keep an eye on.
If you hit with the 360 then your opponent will have 4 stun points, if you hit with another your opponent will have 8. If you his with a light punch then he will have 10 stunpoints now. If you now don’t hit with a 360 immediately then the 10 stun points will fall to zero. Because if you have MT stunpoints and hit after it with a normal those MT Stun points will turn into normal Stunpoints. Ok, now you have normal stunpoints, but if you connect again with a 360 then you will turn it into MT stunpoints again.

Have fun with testing out the T.Hawk and the Dee Jay link! (the Dee Jay link is very good, think of the possibilities.)
I don’t know if those T.Hawk things (and the Dee Jay link)are known in the US because Upper were never popular there.
