Does anybody know

I have always loved drawing, but drawing people was never my strong point, especially not really good manga drawings. I want to know, if anybody knows of any websites that show good basics to drawing manga drawing, or maybe a site that shows how-to-draw fighting characters or something along those lines.

Thanx in advance.

well…you’re not gonna like this answer…
manga=BAD if you’re not good at drawing the human figure. i know a lot of younger people getting into drawing really want to emulate the DBZ style, BUT this tends to be a crutch, not a help. all the manga artists (well maybe not all, but all the good ones) can draw a perfect human form.
you see manga bends/breaks many anatomy rules, and if you know what those rules are, you can break em. if you try to learn human form from manga, it will seriously impare your skillz. so much of drawing revolves around the human form, that it’s really a basic skill. you want to learn the basics correctly.
i would reccomend going to a library, or a book store and check out some basic anatomy books. check out stuff on bones and muscles. once you know how they interact with each other you’re golden.
i know this isn’t the answer you were looking for or wanted, but i swear to you the is the best answer you’ll get.
learn the basics, and you’ll be on your way to learning manga.

The guy above me speaks the truth. Another question is how serious are you about art. If you just want to draw manga for a hobby, then have it at. If you want to make a living out of art study up and give up your life for it.

Not trying to be mean. I hope this information helps.

Going to the website gaia might help you out.

Well Im pretty serious about wanting to become a better artist if thats what you mean. And how is Gaia gonna help? And are we talking about that anime forum site?:wonder:

Gaia might help if you want to draw manga for a hobby is what I meant. I don’t know much about manga and anime so you are better off finding someone else to answer your question.

Srk gives very good advice. This may seem like a street fighter forum, but there are alot of advanced artist here. Post us some of your work and we will give you an honest opinion. This will also give you a chance to showcase your talent and get critiques depending on what style you have. Take it easy.

Yeah agreed with MC and Rabid. Manga RARELY and almost never shows examples of perspective and other varied methods of art. It’s best if you take up the basics of realism. You could learn manga as a gateway but realism is definitely the next level.
