Does a balanced fighting game exist?

Hawk can be beastly if you get his safe jump 360 negative edge loop down. I’d say Cammy is the one who truly sucks. As ultracombo said she’s not really that bad, but compared to the rest she doesn’t have anything abusable.

OG KOF '98 and 2k2, Real Bout 2 and SS5sp are all decently balanced games.

Excuse me? What character did FightingGM use to wipe the floor with the Koreans until he ran out of gas at the grand finals at MLG? Lee, a mid/mid tier character. Ling Xiaoyu has also been used well by dedicated players when it can be proven in multiple ways that she low tier garbage used by great players. Lets not forget about Unconkable’s Zafina who did very well at strongstyle with the worse character in the game (Zafina if you didnt catch it).

Tekken 6 is not the most balanced fighting game on console out there, but out of the recently released games it is the most balanced.

Simply because a good player is using an under-tooled character doesn’t mean the game is any more balanced than it was before. Thats the whole philosophy behind tier lists. Two players of equal skill (which really, can’t exist) play each match-up to determine who is the best. A player might dedicate more time to a character they may like, and it might make matches more difficult for the opponent who normally doesn’t fight that character, but it still doesn’t mean that character has all the tools to play with the characters at the top.
I will agree that it is the most balanced, current fighting game out there on US consoles. When (or if) VF5FS comes out, that might change.

What is this thing you warlocks call a automotive? A car-less carriage? Madness! every sane chap knows that the only way to move a carriage is to use horses. A horse-less carriage would simply be a elaborate seat.

^wtf…

I really don’t see ST as a balanced fighter at all, counter picking does not make it any more balanced it simply abuses the lack of it. CFJ is not balanced either, they are both fun games though.

MVC2 and 3S are definitly unbalanced but theyre lots of fun, weather you play top tier at tournament or low tier casuals/online.

Why can most people not understand that a tier list is not absolute and can never be 100% accurate.

If some guy is beasting in tournament in 2-8 or 3-7 matchups, then you are simply seeing the 2 or 3 part of that matchup OR that player is just more skilled than his opponents.

what if i told you i was gonna follow you around on the forums for the rest of your existence just to laugh at your posts?

I always thought the Guilty Gear games were usualy pretty balanced.

I think the reason 3D games tend to be more balanced is because most of the game is played in your opponent’s face, the emphasis is more on close game. Compared to 2D games where you can make and keep distance more easily…

Guilty Gear has some of the most unapproachable characters in fighting game history. lol

[The beginning of the song is a repeating electric bass riff tracked alongside the bass marimba, played by Jay Messina.[3] The introduction builds with the use of a talk box by Joe Perry, which has become one of the more famous uses of the guitar talk box in popular music (Perry’s guitar “sings” the line “sweet emotion” over Hamilton’s bass riff). Eventually Steven Tyler joins in, singing in unison with Perry’s talk box.Note: The actual talk box device used was called The Bag and was made by Kustom Electronics. The now discontinued device had been used earlier by guitarist including Jeff Beck and Mike Pinera.

The song kicks into a more rocking rhythm with dueling guitars, and rapid-fire angry-sounding lyrics sung by Steven Tyler. The chorus of the song consists of a repeating guitar riff followed by a mirror of the “sweet emotion” intro.](http://www.google.ca/images?q=“Lucy%20and%20I%20staring%20wistfully%20into%20the%20sunset.”)

The thing is, Pixel is using an example of low tier characters competing at competitive levels of play (and there’s plenty more) while all your argument consists of is us trusting you on your word.

Which sounds more credible? Exactly.

I try to approach each game with sense that its balance in its own persona.
Their really no lay out for absolute balance but only theory’s. My personal idea of balance is game that have mechanics that allow universal tool set that player’s can use in variety of ways. Also that theirs a steady flow of offensive and defensive scenarios that allow plenty options for both side’s of engagement.

I personally see Guilty gear accent core as such and blaz blue. More of blaz blue because learning curve is manageable.

Hyperfighting and Super Street Fighter II are pretty balanced. If you fix Bison, Champion Edition is too. They’re not perfectly balanced, but you can play anybody and win, if you’re good.

Balance isn’t necessary to make a good game, and for the love of god CFJ is not balanced.

Guilty gear isn’t balanced, never has been. Reload and Accent Core Eddie rules the game with an iron fist though he has a couple even matchups in those games. You can beat eddie, just the game has such depth you really have to know the in’s and out’s of every matchup extremely well or you can potentially get destroyed. Anji won SBO in a team a few years ago and did well, and he is as bad as guilty gear characters get.

Sounds pretty fucking balanced to me dude.

Um I feel that’s a bit exaggerating in regard to accent core. Eddie now doubt has the more favorable match ups, but he doesn’t dominate the game. But I agree with another poster who said Guilty gear has some sever learning curve. But I blamed that due to the speed.

lmao

I haven’t see that much talk about SFIII: 2I so I want to know how is it broken?

Even if a game is not balanced your skills are what really matters and I think thath actualLy it doesnt exist a game truly 100% balanced with the only eception of KOF 98 UM AND NOT PERFECTLY BALANCED BY THE WAY
