Doctor Doom Combo Thread V2

This is just a case where “use what works for you” applies. I personally don’t find it easier because I know how the j.M is going to hit. L L throws me off.

For someone just learning, sure, practice with L L. Doesn’t cost you anything but two button presses.

L, L, M scales your combo slightly more than M,M early in the combo even though it’s more damage towards the end of a combo. L hits scale the combo a bit more than M hits.

Yeah, L L only does slightly less on like the first rep, then it will do more, but keep in mind that mm works later in the combo too.

L hits have absolutely NOTHING to do with hsd or damage scaling btw.

Oh, thought it scaled the damage slightly more (which wouldn’t be a big deal towards the middle/end of a combo), I read it in the srk wiki but it seems very outdated overall so I guess I shouldn’t trust it too much.’

Does anyone have optimized j.s starter combos? Maziodyne loops are working kind of finnicky for me because of the height of the subsquent m/h xx f.h/s . Does anyone use a better BnB than the regular
j.m j.m etc [3x] finisher?

Guys, i just found an awesome combo with Doom. It switches sides twice but it’s not practical. Can’t record it btw.
Midscreen: cr :l::m::h::s: j.:l::l: addf j.:m:(1) , land ,(switched sides)nj.:m:,:f::h:, addf, land , (switched sides)cr.:m::h::s:, into loop.

In general. The L hits themselves scale at 75% per previous hit, but they have no impact on either hit stun or damage scaling beyond the usual considerations of time and number of hits respectively.

In the corner can’t doom get that kind of damage anyway(tbh, can’t he get that kind of damage anywhere anyway)? I mean I didn’t check the meter build, but my corner combo with doom does over 900k and the only assist it uses is spencers grapple to set-up the sphere flame. The vergil extension didn’t seem to add much since he still didn’t break a million and it doesn’t seem possible outside of the corner.

Overall doesn’t seem to add much to the character. Maybe I’m looking at it from the wrong perspective though.

I tried using :l: :l: :m:(2) in my midscreen combos but they flip out on the 3rd rep? or maybe 2nd

I use :m: :s: for relaunch though, does that affect HSD?

Well if your going for the :m: otg, you might as well go for :f: :h: instead of :s:, I see a lot of people using that towards the end of their combos so I’m assuming it preserves HSD.

On a side note, so I’m trying to learn this combo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBxzDTO4jvs it does almost as much damage is the j. :f: :l: :h: combo but I find it easier. Only issue right now is I can’t get the final rep down, they always seem to pop out. I can’t for the life of me understand why, I’ve studied the combo and I seem to be doing everything the same so I’m stumped.

I realize I’m not giving y’all a lot of information but I was hoping maybe someone else has had this issue and knows what the problem is. Otherwise it’s back to the lab to try and hit the buttons faster.

^I believe it’s the normal jump :m::m: part that you have to do properly to be able to do the last rep.

Yeah :l::l::m: wont work late in a combo duo to the hsd, resort to the normal :m::m: instead.

Ugh, learning new stuff that I shoulda learned months ago.

When doing TAC infinite, after the :l: Plasma Beam rejump part to actually initiate the infinite, what’s it mean when you miss the j. :l: ? Am I just pressing it too slow, or is it me messing up with my height beforehand?

You’re pressing it too slowly. The j.l is pretty much supposed to hit instantly after the Plasma Beam recovers.

i cant seem to get the dash down correctly to otg during combo midscreen. also sometimes i miss the second foot dive. any tips?
