Fair enough, but I think everyone is already going for the easy stuff. The issue at the moment is convincing players to actually upgrade their shit when there doesn’t appear to be an incentive to do so. Most of the doom tacs are easy enough that there isn’t really a reason to downgrade them though. My bad for the spelling issue. You learn something new every day. For the record, I wasn’t upset or anything like that in those posts. I just highly dislike seeing unoptimized combos when the optimized version is still easy. I remember fanatiq telling me that there was no point to doing sentinel refly combos back when ultimate came out, and now he does them whenever necessary.

Also, “aluminum” is so weird. I always read it as Aluminium.

It can also be spelled as aluminium (British spelling again). Like most american spellings, the accepted spelling changed because it was mispronounced/misspelled so often. I’m not even saying that to be an ass; it’s the truth.

I be american. aluminium is so much more fun to say. Its also how its written in the periodic table. So fuck all the haters who say I say it wrong.

Meh, I feel TAC combos in general are dumb and take the fun out of the game.

TAC’s are relevant but ultimately not the best way to play. If I’m running a team like Magneto on point should I put doom in the middle to TAC into? Or should I put Vergil to DHC kill every character for two bars. Off throw I can only kill the majority for 2 bars, and every one for three. If needed, burn xfactor. Why risk an escape by an important character?

TAC’s will be those “must reset, lets roll the dice” tools. TAC’s are dumb because even as bad as they are they are still pretty advantageous when they hit. I’m glad people are so focused on them though. gives me time to catch up my magneto tech.

Some doom tacs are really fun to pull off, but I can definitely see where you are coming from. Tacs are pretty stupid.

Yeah I was just talking about how you said they take the fun out of the game. They are fun if you are the one who gets a succesful tac because it means you just killed a character meter positive :tup:, but the random factor as well as the risk/reward ratio do make them highly irritating.

Especially playing against people who go for tac “fake” resets. I do them myself rather often and I love it :P. Its fun when I do it… even though it’s a BS mechanic cause I successfully pull off a TAC/reset like 80% of the time.

Also what combos do people usually do off of throws/air to air confirms where the HSD is up? Just ShadyK loops?

I usually try to addf into the Shady K combo if I feel like the HSD is alright and they’re mid height, jump loops when they’re :uf: above Doom into 2/3 corner loops and the scrubby :f::h::s: if they’re too low ._.

That reset is kinda terrible to be honest. All you have to do is wait for the flash before trying to counter the TAC. It’s easy enough to react to. The hard part is identifying what kind of TAC is happening; that is pretty much impossible, but you can train yourself to react to the flash without just wailing on :s: during the whole combo.

I have wondered this too, the flash is kinda obvious. Haven’t people been reacting to way quicker and less obvious stuff for a long time now?

Hey guys! First time posting on the SRK forums, but I like to share something for Doom users!

I apologize if this has been done before, but I’ve never seen it done for Doom, but I made a combo that makes you switch sides. I like to call it the “switcheroonie” lol

So how does one perform this switcheroonie? I figure Im pretty consistent with the mid-screen corner carry(thanks for all the help again guys) I might aswell start learning his other stuff. Im not sure how you air dash in such a way that you cross the opponent up.
