DOA 4 Screens

And people wonder why Nintendo hardly ever releases shit about there games. OH NOES LINKS EARS ARENT POINTY ENOUGH.

haha, true^^

and the graphics are more than good enough for me. hell, if all we’re getting are xbox caliber visuals at higher resolutions and madd AA, i’d still be very happy. you can’t always expect a huge performance leap from console to console. i’m just really happy it’s a move away from low res 3d gaming :karate:

the graphics are hot. then again, i don’t own an xbox so i don’t know what the standard for the system is.

anyway on the site it says that those are confirmed xbox 360 doa shots.

for those little disappointed, remember when the snes came out? remember mario world? compare that to the last games that came out, graphically, like mario rpg, yoshi’s island, donkey kong country 2. the beginning games on new systems aren’t always graphically the best.

They never are the best because they are jsut that, launch games.

You wernt mashing the counter button enough.

and UGH!!! at you guy complaning about Xbox graphics being dated. Thats hitting an all time low, and I consider myself pretty shallow.

Besides, the lauch titles on most systems dont take the hardware to its limit, everybody knows that shit. Tekken Tag PS2 looks like something on Dreamcast now compared to Tekken 5. That shit aint even released yet and people already giving impressions of framerate and graphic shit.

Good shit, I didnt even see this the first time I read the thread.

that game looks beautiful

looking at the detail in the background of this screen

that looks impressive to me, i dont know what you people are thinking

compare it to this

i can definitely see a difference.

onto this, though…

i was unaware lee was in doa3.

hitomi’s foot looks well and truly fucked in that pic

Same thing I say to every other DOA game.

Nice tits.

I don’t think DOA4 is going to be the killer-app for X360, so I’m not going to worry about these shots. Sure, the game looks good, but I for one am not looking for a photo-realistic DOA game. If that happened, I don’t think it would be DOA as I know it. What’s really going to matter is how other big games (especially Halo) are going to look on the machine. Hell, if MS really wants to impress us, they should get Valve to drop the X1 version of Half-Life2 and program it for the X360.

yeah, looks like the old DOA engine is being used, but now running at higher res, no jaggies, detail up, and better lighting. not a BIG difference, but very worthwile.
and they should def. just drop the x1 version of hl2 and just bring it over to the 360. that game looks so much better at higher rez’s

I was reading at the 1up boards and there was speculation it could be Code Cronus. Itagaki was always talking about that as well.

Them tittays ain’t not big enough.

I can see why people would bitch about the visuals - aside from the cathedral and some of the smaller details it looks like current generation stuff done with a huge amount of texture memory. I have a feeling that it will all look a hell of a lot better once we see the game in motion - those crazy backgrounds and outfits look like they’ll be going nuts when they’re actually moving.

As for DoA games being casual, that’s always been a load of BS. That game has deep systems for fighting, combos, counters, and throws, topped off by gigantic lists of moves for each player. They might be easy for a casual gamer to pick up and screw around with in the same way that any 3D game is, but a devoted DoA player is playing an entirely different game.

No…No

I am not impressed at all. It does not look all that better then DOAU2…sure, the resolution is higher, but the detail isn’t that great of a leap. I understand that DOA games have a very animeish design to them, that does not mean thay couldn’t have added more detail to the game. Maybe I’ll change my mind if I see it in motion.

Your comparing 1st Generation Xbox 1 software to Xbox 360 software. And the saddest part? Both those screen shots look like they are from the same game! The DOA4 looks like 3rd gen Xbox software… a natural progression from DOA 3, but certainly not next gen.

Here are screen shots from Ninja Gaiden Black. If I told you all they were from Xbox 360, we’d have the same stupid arguments. Someone would get a screen from Ninja Gaiden and compare them and say what a huge difference there is.

Heres my theory on the whole thing: It’s either

A. Xbox 1 software (most likely case).

B. DOA 4 was very far along in Xbox 1 development, but microsoft told Tecmo they wanted it for 360 launch, so Team Ninja moved DOA 4 to 360 and have yet to uprgade the graphics.

Or C. it was developed specifically for 360, and Microsofts next console is not a huge leap from Xbox 1.

or D : If you look at the screen shot with Bass and that black chick you will see Xenon in the background, and think this was a screenshot from an earlier build.

Believe me, this is not simply a port of a Xbox title to the 360. Different machines do things differently. Entirely differently. The code base for 360 is completely different than the x-box. As a developer, you don’t go and start major graphical advances right from the start. You’d be askiing for failure. You start at the core of what your tools can do, which is a good gague of how much we can expect from the hardware in the future. I’m sure that some amazingly breathtaking content is possible for 360, and developers are also sure of this. I’m also sure that no developer is able to say 100% that they can actually produce such things right now on the fly. It just dosen’t happen until the tools have been realised.

I saw what the Xbox360 can produce yesterday (mtv) Beautiful graphics…beautiful plain and simple. I’m not a DOA fan at all…but the graphics in this game are really catching my attention, and i think that when DOA4 comes out, it will be up to par with the “Xbox360” Standard

And Street Fighter hasn’t?
