Whoa, this is getting to personal to fast.:nono: Honestly who cares who made it, I never really look at these threads anymore. I don’t play anymore. It was brought to my attention that spidey “might” have an infinite and this is why I’m posting.

All I can give are ideas right now. I’m at work.:razz: Try and mix with it the magic series web ball combo.
You all know the s.lp s.lp, s.j magic, sj. lp weball, magic series, then maybe re-bounce with j.fp, catch them with a couple of more magic series.

I’ve been thinking and hinting at/saying it for a long time, WM is cool but just a bit confused…

note: pretty sure spidey can do dash jupfwd.lk, double action jupfwd.lp, jupfwd.lk for a guard break. This is vs a point character who is jumping upbck.

if the guard break works, its an infinite setup or you can do a rejump into tron, infinite.

so shitty ass UMK3 inspired me for a new set of options with spidey. In UMK3 and possibly other MK games, when you jump over someone and cross apexes then attack, the game flips you around so you’re always looking towards your opponent. You don’t really see this in SF. Once you jump over the opponent, you’re stuck looking that direction.

Double action characters can do this as well in mvc2. If spidey does jupfwd.lk over the opponent and doesn’t make contact, the game will flip him around after the apex cross and it allows him to chain again due to his double action. The double action allows him to attack obviously but it also makes the game change the way he’s facing. I’ve noticed that if it hits, the apex change happens kind of late and he won’t flip around. Wiffing it makes it work.

so stuff like KD series, jupfwd.lk, call tron before you reach the apex, apex cross happens falling j.rh, tron, land, instant overhead or go low or jup, adf quick drop attack and get a tron crossup.

you can even do slightly more complicated stuff with jupbck instant overhead with double to create AD space, ADF falling j.rh will hit xup on a lot of characters.

blocked instant overhead, chain out j.lk, spidey crosses apex with the point character, he’ll flip around. So you’ll get a high hit thats safe on block, and he can reattack with another falling high or wait call helper.

Its a nice little setup and should work with venom as well. It definitely adds to his mixup game.

I’ve been beastin with spidey online. His loops are really that good and his positioning is above average if you compare him to the rest of the cast. He has multiple ways in with very good mixups.


KD series, call tron, adf, quick drop is a ghetto crossup that I don’t use often. Its pretty good IMO and I’m just making a note for myself or anyone else that gives a damn about spidey.

KD series, call tron, SJ, immediate ADF, hit sj.lk when spidey starts to swing UP, float back to the original side with crossup. I think this is a double cross up. Not 100% sure right now until I get someone to block it.

Wow, man. That’s crazy that double action lets you turn around. I thought that was a function of SJ state only. Double-jump characters can do the apex mixups too with sj imm. dj, pretty useful.

DJ characters can perform the flip around with DJ tricks. Strider for instance can do j.lk, instant overhead, chain j.mp but this wiffs. After the wiff, strider faces the other direction and now you can DJ facing the new direction. Not exactly practical per say but it does allow a flip around in NJ state.

if spidey does a c\s lp or lk, opponent blocks then calls helper as fast as possible, spidey can do ADF, quick drop and he will dodge the helpers. Tested against psylock, cyke, mando. When you quick drop over the point and helper, the opponent is left in a bad position. Great opportunity for spidey to get damage and a mixup.

So it looks like spidey should end all block strings with a light attack if you think theres a helper coming out. Also tested this with his mediums and he doesn’t recover quick enough unfortuantely.
