Do you think KOF solidified a "Main" Place for EVO2K13?

Mexico’s 2013 runback against Korea is going to be so hype. Putting money on BALA coming back with a vengeance. Just hope he gets to fight madkof again.

I’d say KOF comes back to EVO for sure. I mean, it does speak volumes that it was played just before MvC and AE and managed to pull such a large audience. Plus, on a lot of streams, KOF rarely takes the main stage during weekly tourneys, usually falling 2nd to a Capcom game. Now that it had an equal share of the spotlight, I say more people finally got a really nice look into the game and saw just what is possible, from the combos to crazy comebacks with one character.

KoF is here to stay. Now. The real question is will SNK follow up with KoF14 and discuss talks with Capcom to do SvC: Chaos 2 and CvS3?

Definitely, but the community can’t just assume that, it has to MAKE it happen by pushing this game hard - showing up for events, teaching people, spreading the word. I couldn’t stop thinking that ironically, the least graphically flashy fighter at Evo on the main stream, KOF XIII and ST, actually still made the best spectator games because of the incredible intensity and flow to the matches. Sometimes less is more.

I didn’t make evo this year, but a friend said the crowd only got hype for bala and was kind of dead for the Korea matches. You guys agree wuththat?

I’m really glad KOF is getting new life, but it can still die because of its shitty online.
SNK needs to seal the deal with an amazing KOF14 with GGPO, so all the U.S. community can shit their pants.

That would be nice, but I hear 3rd Strike Online got that taken away, so that would be something to consider.

Actually, the Iron Galaxy guys admitted that they fucked up the GGPO netcode for 3SOE and forgot to implement some basic netcode features. GGPO does work on console, just look at Skullgirls.

Oh yeah, you said that you believed that Robert sucked when we spoke. After EVO, I really started trying to think about what I could do with that character, and tried to put all of my knowledge about what he’s capable of in this thread: Robert Garcia Thread.

I don’t really follow too many KOF streams (and the ones I do I hardly ever see Robert get played) so I don’t know if any of the stuff I’m posting is already well-known or obsolete. As far as I know, I couldn’t find most of the ideas I put down on DreamCancel or this forum. Hopefully, maybe it’ll inspire people to give this character another shot.

Robert’s a swiss army knife type of character and there’s so much he can do well that I’m surprised more people don’t use him.

On topic though, I really hope KoFXIII will be around next year, but with the numbers it drew both on stream and entries, I can’t imagine it won’t be. It’s a really fun game to watch what with how fast paced it can be. I’m hoping SNK doesn’t fuck it up by putting out some BS sequel. I’d rather see them put out an update or two for this one and let the game marinate for a couple more years so it can really be pulled apart and figured out. The update cycles on games these days are almost too fast and I’d really like to see KoFXIII have a little time to get played before new updates or sequels come out.

The way KOF Grand Finals went, it’s like they basically took all the excitement of the Top 8, and decided to just distill it into the last sets instead.

True. Easily the best match of EVO (Grand Finals)

AS big as the tourney was at EVO we HAVE to keep numbers up.

What’s this about the players taking a break from the TRB that I’ve been hearing about? This isn’t the time to take a break this is the time to get a foot up your ass and put in work till next year.

I would seriously go to EVO if it wasn’t for that fucking huge puddle inbetween our countries.
